    Absurdly good.
I went in with the highest of high hopes as those three (McDonagh, Gleeson, Farrell) are just insanely good together and came away a little underwhelmed.

They went with the absurd; I guess that is what they were aiming for?
More of an In Bruges guy?

I'm hopelessly time-poor when it comes to watching any new TV series, but I did find time over the long weekend to watch this pretty decent new Greek TV series on Netflix called 'Maestro in Blue'. Plenty of twists and turns throughout the 9 eps, and it covers some controversial and normally taboo subjects.

        Yes I think so.

An allegory for the absurdity of the war that was taking place across the water.

People are raving about how amazing Succession is and I don't think it's worth the hype. I'm completely up to date, and think it's a really good show, but best ever as some claim is over the top.
          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Not to get too film school with it but I didn’t think of it as absurd as much as an inability of the characters (particularly Gleeson) as being incapable of being able to deal with the despair brought on by the closed nature of the lives. I loved it and thought it was one of the best acted movies I’ve seen in recent memory.

I’m a huge mark for it. Its writing is incredible and gives you so much to talk about and interpret with every episode, which is specifically why it’s resonated so much with its audience. I’ve never seen so much satellite content about a show as there is with Succession.

I have enjoyed the series and I am also up to date. Good entertainment, but best ever - nah

Damn, I need to change my signature to "more of an In Bruges guy". I never thought I'd be called low brow with a cult classic like In Bruges. The TV spy show Burn Notice, yes... but not In Bruges

I'd say I enjoyed In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths and The Guard more than The Banshees of Inisherin.

Have you seen a movie called Hell or Highwater?

Definitely not low brow! I loved In Bruges but could’ve taken or left all of McDonagh’s other films.

I haven’t seen Hell or Highwater but “neo-western crime drama” definitely passes the Wikipedia test so I’ll add it to the list.

Correct that's a title reserved for Game of Thrones it's just disappointing they stopped at the end of season 4.

I'll also add that I think Mt Inbetween is close to the best tv show I've ever seen. Ludicrous, gritty, funny, visceral, heartfelt, funny. Just near flawless TV.

After you see Brian Cox as Captain O'Haigin in Super Troopers he loses his menace.
