I just don't know why they played it that way...made the whole thing just so depressing. Anyway. Paul Kelly as the bus driver was great casting but if you're dropping a kid and his dog near a prison - on Christmas Day without calling 'someone' you're just a bad person.
Ah? but isn?t the song about someone in prison?
More of an In Bruges guy?

Woah, spoiler alert on the bus driver, that was a nice surprise.

I thought the ending was quite a bit more unbelievable than a bus driver doing his job (and maybe he called somebody after he dropped Angus off). He should have done something but I could easily believe someone in real life taking a not my business attitude.

I think how and why Joe ended up in prison was necessary to explain his whole demeanor and the history repeating theme.

Yeah...but can't he just BE in prison?

"Hey Dan, it's Joe here..." is the start of the song. Not a street brawl after a miserable and uncomfortable lunch with a miserable and uncomfortable bloke...look, there's a bit of a half arsed redemption story around gravy (maybe just don't dry out the turkey fellas and you wont need it anyway) but why did it have to be so BLEAK???

It was just depressing and I didn't understand why the whole family had to be in complete turmoil BEFORE he went inside. It's a CHRISTMAS MOVIE!!!
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

...Once he let the dog on the bus a line was clearly crossed!!! He was involved from that point forward. The guys at the prison had clearly not received a call...he was hovering around the security cameras...

          Anyways...

Fair call. I have not watched it but what you describe is a bit over the top.

Wont say I'm loving it 'cos parts of it definitely cross into the 'stupid' category (the mean waiter jokes run their course WAY before they give up on them) but it's clever and it's just different....
Agreed, enjoyable show with a reasonably original premise. I’m only a 3-4 eps in but it’s an enjoyable watch. Doesn’t quite hit all of its marks but worth a watch.
Have also watched a few eps of Say Nothing on Disney. A drama about “the Troubles” in Northern Ireland. Seems to be a proper, engaging, well written adult drama. So far, highly recommended.

Did anyone go back for season 2 of Winning Time?

I am four episode in and damn it has been a good watch.

A lot of similarities to what our club has faced recently.

I did. I liked Winning Time.

But having read the source material it hit a lot of beats for me - professional sports based as well...

Please - more interesting shows (Rogue Heroes, Winning Time, Interior China Town - hell, I'll even include the slow horses) and less cops and robbers a + b = the troubled good guy who is mostly misunderstood caught the bad guy (like Cross).

If you're gonna roll with a formula, cool - but make it fun. Reacher is fun. Actually I watched an episode of Black Doves yesterday and that was sorta fun. It's ok to stuff up occasionally trying something.

Started Black Doves tonight - enjoying it.

The Day of the Jackal I am enjoying as well - final episode this week.

I binge watched LA BREA season 1 on Netflix.

Terrible, cheesy, yet engaging enough sci-fi time travel stuff. Looked familiar, and I realised it was shot around Melbourne and Mt Macedon.

Finally got around to Slow Horses S4. Brilliant as usual. Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman) is funny as F. Can’t wait for S5.

I guess it's a little episodic, it does skip some major events (good and bad) and probably paints him as a better man than he was. But there's plenty covered that I was never aware of as well. Probably need to be an F1 nut to really like it (unlike DTS and Rush which seems to appeal to everyone)

FInished Day of the Jackal, thoroughly enjoyed it but the final scene was a bit of a sigh
