I'm listening to the podcast with Ben Stiller and Adam Scott. Adam has another podcast with a very different tone so it's weird to hear him be a bit serious

So, without going into spoilers but was anyone else underwhelmed with the last couple of episodes of Shogun? I guess you can only do what the book allows, so maybe my beef is with the author.

What are the two podcasts? Did you see Adam Scott in Party Down and Parks are Rec?

The recap one with Stiller is just The Severence Podcast

His other podcast is harder to name because it changes each season. It was started as U talkin' U2 2 me? They even got an interview with the band. I think right now it's called U Springin' Springsteen on my Bean and has also been R U Talkin' R.E.M RE: ME? and a couple of other names. It looks like they have a new season coming up with a different band.

I've seen Adam in those shows. I think Step Brothers was the first thing I saw him in.

I think people here might like the take on the super hero genre that Supacell brings (Netflix). Strong series all the way through.

Not that I was there for a long time but when I went to the UK for a month a couple of years ago it was a pretty gritty and almost depressing place to be as the country hurdled towards the toilet under a decade of corrupt Tori rule. Nobody having fun, estate kids going stabby stabby on each other. Feel this show picks up on that vibe reasonably.
              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I never watched Heroes, but I guess if that's what you want to tell me it's like then go for it! The critics really liked Supacell (100% on RT), Heroes (52% on RT) not so much (audiences 7 and 7.5 out of ten respectively) so possibly there's some better writing or whatever involved.

With respect to the genre it's not like The Boyz with its gore and schtick, it's not Marvel or really much else that I've seen. You'll either dig it or you won't I guess!

Just watched the first episode of Severance S2. Not a bad start, but feel this is going to be a bridging season where not a lot is unraveled or much comes to light.

Heroes was not a 'bad' show when it started but it became pretty awful after the writers strike. The trailer for the oibruvs I saw reminded me a lot of Heroes S1 but a bit flipped from 'save the cheerleader, save the world' to 'save all the heroes or your gf dies bruv'

The vibe feels a bit similar from the trailer, kind of dark/mature without being over the top like The Boys as you say. Though Heroes main villain did go around cutting open other heroes heads to eat the part of the brain that gives them powers so that he could get their powers (which makes absolutely no sense now that I think about it for 5 seconds) which is pretty gory but was 100% offscreened.

                            PSA:

To the fans of David Simon (The Wire, and others), SBS just got the entire series of the first story of his about the Baltimore Homicide Unit, ‘Homicide Life on the Street’.

I’ve got the box set and was thinking about re-watching it as it’s brilliant (ex last season) and it was said it would never get to streaming owing to commercial shit fighting. But SBS dropped the first four seasons with the last three season in the next two weeks.

If you’re like me and love The Wire, watch for all The Wire actors throughout the seasons here.

No McNulty’s in HLOTS. Unfortunately. But enough Pembleton & Munch though.
