    Re: A League

    West Sydney have performed well.
Defensively well structured and hard to break down
Central Coast are very nice to watch and personally if Melb Victory don't win it, I'd like them to win it.

Probably the best game I've seen for a few years.
Victory thoroughly deserved the win, and would have been an injustice not to get anything out of it.The league has really risen this season after a couple of years of treading water.

Really enjoying the way Victory play, the link up in midfield between Finkler & Flores is starting to flourish.

          Re: A League

I was listening to SEN at about the 75 minute mark of the game and the hosts got a call from a disgruntled Victory fan complaining about their complete lack of scoring options. While the fan is on the line Victory scores and they all have a laugh and then let him go. Cue 15 minutes later and they've snatched the win so they call the fan back who is at once sheepish and completely over the moon.

          Funny stuff.

TCD, is there style of play different this season? Is it fair to say they have had a shaky start to the year?

I am not a fan of soccer at all, the only exposure I got to the game was on a Sunday morning on the channel two show Offsiders. Sometimes Ange Postecoglou was a guest panellist and I really enjoyed listening to him and his thoughts on the game. Obviously I knew how well the Brisbane Roar did under his reign, so I assumed him coming to the Victory could only be a good thing.

Sydney FC have lost their coach after only 6 matches. Pretty poor to blame him so early in the season.

It seems like he has quit rather than being sacked.

He has copped a lot from supporters, the club etc and he is stressed out and has had enough. When I said blame, it was more the pressure on him from everyone.

Gets Rojas into the game as well.
He looked lost last season ( not helped by slow ball movement of Mehmet style )
Then he had the lump it long style of Jim Magilton. Very impressed with Traore as well

David Beckham I hear is rumoured to come to the A League for a 10 game stint. Not sure if this will happen though.

                        Re: A League

Looks like David Beckham won't come down to the A League after all. It was all just talk. I think we Australians are not used to the tabloid media compared to the English.

Funny before last season Melbourne Heart had an advertising and harped about Harry Kewell signing being gimmicky. Hmm 12 months on someone wants a certain East Londoner!

                              Doubling the attendance probably appeals.

Good news on Friday night games being live on SBS next year. Great step for the league.
