Confirmed TradeGold Coast have traded Harley Bennell and Pick 22 for Fremantle's Pick 16 and 35.

I'm happy for him and he is going to a great club. Suns loss if Freo's gain.

I think this now puts a line through the Cam McCartney trade.

Hopefully he doesn't play up off field and settles into his new club.

He had a meeting with Ross Lyon the other day which convinced Ross to go ahead and trade for him.

Actually think it is probably the best place for Bennell to go, as Ross has a strong discipline and they also seem to do well with Indigenous players.

GWS have signed Geelong's Dawson Simpson as a unrestricted Free Agent according to SEN

He has been in the system longer than Ayce Cordy and played about the same amount of games. Should be in the eker thread.

Still have an early enough pick in the draft and it's essentially next year or bust in terms of winning the premiership. Worst case scenario they don't win the premiership (wouldn't win it with their current list anyway), Bennell stuffs up and they have to rebuild (no loss of early draft pick).

The scenario you paint is not worst case. How will they stand if Bennell goes off the rails and implicates some of their other players in misdeeds?
