This Clayton Oliver story just keeps growing. It does feel a lot like when the Pies offloaded Treloar.

Treloar was purely salary. This is Stringeresque.

There's no way he comes here. We can't handle anyone who's not a choir boy. I don't want him anyway for what it would cost. And if Melbourne are willing to let him go right in the middle of their window then it must be bad....

He'd probably go to Geelong and win a flag.

I'm not saying he will come to the Dogs or it is a salary cap dump purely. Just that the slow leak of information and the way the information has leaked and built in the media that there is definitely something to this and it appears that him leaving the club is Melbourne's preferred option.

There is literally nothing to suggest he'd come to us, but I think he'd be excellent. To me he feels more like Dunks than Stringer - stroppy off the field but a consummate professional on it. Same age, play similar types of game... He'd fix a few of our problems, especially the ones created by Dunkley walking.

To reiterate - there is absolutely no way we'll get him. We won't even emerge as in contention.

There were no media reports about Dunkley getting a foot infection after trying to give himself a tattoo or potentially moving into his captain's house as a way to manage his life off-field.

I'd love Clarry, think he's a jet and gives our midfield continuity after Libba, but sounds like he's no choir boy and you have to consider how that influences the broader group.

With Doedee going to Brisbane does that push Payne down a rung?
Would we be interested in Payne or is he more your Gardner type.

No, you're right - that feels more Hunter-ish. Or Libba in Vietnam-ish.
