Surely Sweet does the job, straight swap!

Port entertaining bringing in Soldo. Wonder if that makes any difference to Sweet or contradicts what vision they sold him?

Chris Davies quoted as saying Soldo wants to be number 1 ruck. Surely thats why Sweet is leaving in the first place?

Duursma hasn't come on as much as Port had hoped but bringing in a younger midfielder as part of a trade for Sweet would be appealing. Sweet and F3 for Duursma? I imagine that Duursma on his own would be a F2 after negotiations since he has been mostly cruising on his debut season.

He doesn't. Doubtful he will be there next year.

Don't think there is any chance they entertain that. Their starting point will probably be a late first round to early second. No way they would take a third rounder plus Sweet who is almost worthless from a trade perspective.

He was pick 18 in 2018. So I think something in the 20s probably gets it done

Looking at his numbers though hes only gone backwards since his debut. Would be a hard sell to claim a mid who has never averaged over 20 possessions at age 23 is worth pick 26 or whatever. If he wasn't a former highish pick would anyone expect more than a pick in the 40s or late 30s?

Not sure his original draft position matters too much now either. Lipinski was traded for pick 43 and rightly or wrongly I think Duursma has a little more value than Lipa did. My guess would be something in the realms of 25-35. Port can then use that for Ratugolea or BZT.

I guess Sweet might look at it that he's more likely to get past someone like Soldo than English

I could see 30-35 being a sweet spot. He is at least playing regularly so I can agree probably worth an upgrade on Lipinski who was very fringe with us even though he dominated the lower levels

There were Duursma rumors last year too.
I'm not sure he's a massive wing upgrade relative to cost. Plus after his brother gets drafted this year we'll have another dreaded 'lessor brother's on our list if we traded for him.

I heard the Bombers are into Duursma and Billings they generally so call win trade week with these outside types.

McKay plays about 7 games a year. Duursma hasn’t reached the heights. Billing’s goes 40% goal accuracy over his career, Goldy is 36 and Gresham is selfish.

Way to burn through your cap even with Shiel going.
