Is he really that keen on the move? or is this just a clever, but also opportunistic contract grab?

His contract next year with GWS is reportedly worth $400K so I don't think it's financially motivated.

Sydney didn't really have any choice. PSD was too high a risk to lose him for nothing. Port will probably want that pick for Ladhams even though Ladhams really not worth that. Port have nothing to give back this year with #63 their next best pick and they've already traded next year's 3rd rounder out. Possibly it could involve Port's 2022 Rd 2 pick and the Dawson pick.

Great and cheap pickup for the Crows - the Swans would have every right to be a bitter, after having got Dawson to almost all-australian level - he easily could have been selected.

On the other hand, I cant get over the Cats demanding a similar pick for a player they barely played for three years (Jordan Clark), and clearly don't believe in.

It's possible the Demons will have a massive hangover. Stranger things have happened might end up an OK pick.

            I really rate Dawson.

So what's everyone thoughts? Any chance we get a deal done before the deadline?

Yep, it's crazy. Clark should be closer to Lipinski levels of value than Dawson.

Would be a big surprise if we were to do anything now, seemingly nothing in the media linked to us. Quite a contrast to last year when Dunkley and Treloar went down to the wire.

Just like their interest in Chad Wingard, Greater Western Sydney has explored interest in Luke Breust over the last day. Would similarly have been willing to use pick 13 in a deal, but like Wingard, Breust has been reluctant to move from Hawks.

Agreed - if you combined the clean skills of Lipinski with the speed and agility of Clark you have a very good player

Breust/Gunston would’ve been an ideal replacement for Bruce, and a GENUINE fwd target. Something we lack.
Oh well. Guess we wouldn’t have the draft pick required, even if Hawthorn paid 50% of their wage.
I will never see #16 the same!!

I just don't think there's anyone out there worth pursuing. It's a dud trade period for sure.

Happy with Darcy and Marra in two years though, we are very lucky.

There are players worth pursuing (Bruest/Gunston), but Im not sure we have the assets or want to sacrifice 2022 draft assets to get them
