Seems some of the Port fans liked him.

Bit of a concern if a club desperate for rucks is letting one go, though.

I don't think the club have a choice. Sweet knows that this next contract is his make or break deal and he is the best performed ruck in the state league comp. If he doesn't get on a list now that will give him an opportunity at a senior level then he is never going to.

From our perspective we need another "developing ruck" unless we are prepared to make that Darcy, which I don't think we really want to.

I mean, yes...but I can see him getting a contract if we don't feel we have 'replaced' him. He's an AFL ready stand in, not horrible depth...but also the kind of player you want rotated out of your squad to get fresh people in

Could we move Crozier forward? Could he slot back into that high half forward role that we don't seem to have anyone that can play?

He was played mainly as a forward at Freo, but could not make it there.

I'd welcome him to come back and try as a forward for Footscray however he has no place being on the main list in 2024.

He was played mainly as a forward at Freo, but could not make it there.

To be fair he played as a forward in a highly defensive team. I think if he is retained on the list he is worth a shout

Could we move Crozier forward? Could he slot back into that high half forward role that we don't seem to have anyone that can play?

My gut feel is that if Crozier is to be re-signed for another year it will just be as a depth player and it's doubtful he could adapt to a role in the forward line.

I keep reading this everywhere. Why? He's hardly played for 2 years. Why sign him again to not play? Why waste the list spot?

The only reasons why I assume he might be re-signed is that 1) we haven't de-listed him yet and 2) we have flagged a max of 4 players being selected in the national draft. This means some players that probably should be moved on will be maintained.

He's probably still an okay player but it's hard to justify him getting another deal.

Also we can’t gut the club in one draft - especially one that’s not deep. Every pick we take in the national is a 2 year deal.

They need to rebuild the depth over 2-3 drafts or we completely lose any competition for spots.

We were linked to Paddy Dow earlier in the year. Ginnivan too. Power has been seen at a couple of Collingwood reserves games recently. I cant recall where these links came from though.

What lofty players who will help turn our form around? (except maybe Gini to an extent). Basically shifting deck chairs on the titanic with our outs and those potential ins. If Bevo was looking to trade for some good players to give him the depth in the 22 he has been lamenting. Well sorry Bevo, there?s some bad news on that front at this stage.

We’re really a money ball trade in club trying to take a retread up multiple levels or have them land as a role player who sits just around the best 22 mark.

Ginnivan though would absolutely be best 22 for us. I bet he’d frustrate our coaching panel and selection committee though.

I can't see Ginnivan coming to us. He seems heavily invested in the Pies. We also won't have much to trade with if we are successful in landing pick 4 form GC
