To keep an eye on the likes of Greene, Elliott, Papley and so on?

I fear you've proved my point.

I also can't believe I'm stanning for another year of Duryea.

I like the offbeat thinking but not even Bevo would sanction this, he'd get eaten alive against a seasoned small forward.

        Well success comes from change.

If we keep doing what we have always done we only get what we already have.

I'd be looking at a mature-aged player out of the state leagues or throwing an extra 50k per season at an underutilised small back at another club (how hard are those feelings, John Noble?). We aren't talking about a 195cm centre-half forward or a centre-square mid with burst pace here, surely recruiting for an accountable small defender who doesn't really need to take a lot of responsibility rebounding the ball shouldn't be that difficult - Collingwood plucked another one in Markov pretty easily.

Think you're absolutely right that we don't have another one on the list at the moment - but I'd rather we went the trade or draft route and found a guy who didn't look like he was just about on his last legs already and will be 33 in April.

I'd rather have Duryea. And that's where we're at ...
We've known we have needed to find a back-up for Duryea and I suspect given one really hasn't stepped forward it strengthens his chances of getting another 12 months. Power did say that the draft had a few rebounding defender types so perhaps a late pick might help address that.

This is where it's dumb to continually hold onto players we don't play (Sweet, Khamis) and others who clearly aren't up to it (McComb, Raak, McNeil and I could name others) instead of cutting our losses to find nuggety BP types.

Looks like we will be keeping most of the players again. The trick will be somehow getting more out of them.

Maybe the one on WOOF can make a comeback?

If only we had a quality player like him.

One can only assume that Roarke & O’Neill may get elevated after everything is said and done if there’s no better option/s for the lady spot/s on the list since nothing has been said about them either re-signing or being delisted.

Our key backs were light on this year.

Gardner, Keath, JOD and Busslinger are our options for 2024.

I wonder who we have earmarked to come in?
More of an In Bruges guy?
