Teams seem to be focusing on bringing in small forwards and I think it exposes our lack of both small defenders and small forwards.
If we were to land Watson it sort of fixes one of the problems or at least provides us with some options.
That would give us Weightman, Clarke and Watson and potentially Arty Jones although I think he is more of a mid

For defenders with an ageing Duryea and JJ for that matter and perhaps Gallagher and Vandermeer earmarked as small defenders we don't have a lot of options and we might really be hoping that we land Lual.

I think West offers more forward and more if a chance to make it as a mid. Garcia can tackle at least. I guess Bevo needs to throw a few new magnets around this off season. Why not a few of these guys.

Power is indicating that we will draft 3 or 4 players and assess other options as well.

I've been very impressed with the way he navigated around this trade period given some of the challenges and not having a genuinely strong hand as a starting point.

I would like to see Arty Jones tried down back.
Has the pace and would close down opposition.
Would probably give him more chance to impact as he can't seem to find the ball.

I’d look to have VDM do his pre season down back and shadow Duryea. He has speed and competitiveness to make it work. Does he have the football IQ and composure? Not so sure.

Interestingly Pies won the flag without a real lock down small defender.
