Why don't you do it? You've pretty much been the most vocal on here about there not being one. Just go and do it.

It has to be things like his upside and his marking. Decent combine results but nothing that special.
He looks like a Hayden Crozier clone to me. He similarly got attention after taking a massive screamer in the U18s

        Re: 2024 Draft Watch

Not sure if this is much different than previous reports from Code Sports but Hamish Davis and Jasper Alger not mentioned

After adding powerful forward-midfielder Cooper Hynes – who can add to their forward half mix as soon as next year – the Western Bulldogs now hold two of the first four selections on night two. That’s thanks to their first night trade with the Lions which saw them move up the board. You can hazard a guess that the key position-stacked Bulldogs won’t be looking at sliding spearheads Jobe Shanahan and Jack Whitlock, and some extra midfield reinforcement could be in their thinking given Bailey Smith’s departure.

The Dogs have been linked to flashy midfielder Christian Moraes – who entered the season as a potential top 10 pick – and he is right in contention to be taken with either of those selections. Other midfield types the Dogs have expressed interest in include Tom Gross, who has suffered a similar slide to Moraes throughout the year, 194cm prospect Jack Ough and late-season WA bolter Hugh Boxshall.

Geelong Falcons co-captain Lachie Jaques, a rebounding defender, is another option for them in this range of the draft. They are expected to take at least four selections so expect them to use picks 79 and 83, which will come in significantly. Jaques’ Falcons teammate Xavier Ivisic, a smart midfielder-forward, and lightning quick defender Blake Leidler, who could come into their thinking at the back-end.

I must say at this point in the draft I don't quite understand the narrative of taking a pick too early. There isn't massive value from here on to trade back I just think back your judgment and take the kid you want rather than looking for a Black Friday special.

Like I said earlier, once you make it past pick 30 a player might only be on two or three draft boards at that point.

You'd imagine Port would be desperate for one of the sliding tall forwards and might part with 33 and 37 for our first pick tonight? We could give them a junk late pick back.

              Wishful thinking?

I guess it comes down to who the clubs rate and how much them. And if there’s real competition. If the Essendon reach out is real, and if Port desperately wanted a KPP. Their 33 & 38 is better than the Dons 37 & 39 leaving out the future swap. Plus Port showed already this draft they’re prepared to trade up to the player they rate.

Good to be us, trade or not.

Apparently Richmond and Dogs both declined the Dons offer. The live trading and the valuation of future vs current picks in the regular trade period seems to indicate next year is a bung draft. Real 2003 vibes

Or I guess the players this year are too good to pass up

I think that we're waiting for them to really squirm once the draft starts. See if they panic, if not then take pick 29.

Dodoro heard muttering, ‘I would’ve got that trade done and won the whole damn thing’.

They should just take a late punt on Gabriel Stumpf, who is an outstanding athlete and has an outstanding name.

Is it worth the risk still though? And what do you really gain? I have a feeling its more about supporters adding up points values in the trades than anything significant.

Some speculation tonight that Tom Gross will be our first pick. That's a surprise to me if true.
