Dunno, I remember the young kid from Adelaide Declan Hamilton's leaving me puzzled. Not having a crack at the lad, but I remember thinking if that's the standard all Patty Vez needs to do is get his body right and he'd definitely still make it (which I kind of still think could happen if he just committed himself to the game).

Just a lazy three AAs for his career, and was nearly a premiership player.

Feel he gets a bit of a bad wrap because he let coked up penis shots get out into the public domain (what a wild time that was!). He was a very very good footballer.

It's incredible (but not really) that DalSanto, Montagna and Riewoldt still built media careers after the scandals of their playing days.

            Re: 2024 Draft Watch

These are the 20 players who have been invited to attend the 1st night of the draft.

Levi Ashcroft, Finn O’Sullivan, Harvey Langford, Sam Lalor, Jagga Smith, Sid Draper, Josh Smillie, Murphy Reid, Alix Tauru, Harry Armstrong, Tobie Travaglia, Bo Allan, Leo Lombard, Isaac Kako, Xavier Lindsay, Joe Berry, Jack Whitlock, Matt Whitlock, Jobe Shanahan and Sam Marshall.

I'm not sure they will all be selected in the 1st night but some of the names that didn't get an invite are Taj Hotton, Luke Trainor, Cooper Hynes and Jesse Dattoli.

There is a chance the player we select might not be at Marvel Stadium on Wednesday.
Is there a slider like Murphy Reid, Taj Hotton or Luke Trainor that some speculation in the media has linked us with?
Or could if be someone like Ollie Hannaford, Jess Dattoli, Cooper Hynes or Hamish Davis?

Just Draper and Allan from interstate.

He's been linked to us but I think Richmond pull the trigger with their 6th or 7th pick (which may still be in the 20s!)

Haven't seen too much but he seems to cover the ground pretty well as a HF and is a nice size

Hard to see where he might be selected. As Mofra mentioned there was a link with us but who knows if it was a strong one.
His combine results were very good.

Seems like the consensus is that Berry won’t get through to us. Ben Reid has been his local coach the last few years so we would definitely have a good feel for him as a prospect. He appears to be the exact player GWS like so I would be surprised if he gets past them.

A few of the phantom drafts have Fremantle very interested. GWS seem to have invested heavily in smaller forwards in recent years with Toby Greene, Darcy Jones, Brent Daniels, Harvey Thomas, Phoenix Gothard and Toby McMullin they're pretty well covered even allowing that Berry is a special talent.

Sounds like Port are interested too, who also have a pick ahead of us

Really like Sam. Very composed. Great flow to him. Kind of like what we were looking for in Bedendo but more developed. Kicks goals from small opportunities. Ready to go medium forward with a huge tank.

Is it weird to invite only 20 players when you know that your nonsense first round will have at least 26 picks?

I'm not sure of the logic but they've done it for at least
                              a couple of years now.

I think it’s to minimise the frequency of players being invited but not being drafted that night. It still happens all the time, but if you invited a full 25-30 players there’d likely end up being close to 10 of them left disappointed.
