I'm probably more so on the 'DONT get Dawes' side - I certainly wouldn't want to be given up anything along the lines of 2 picks under 50.

2-3 years ago - before his bad hand injury, he was no star - but he was a pretty valuable forward. Post the injury - most probably due to the injury itself - his confidence has seemed down and his attack on the footy has dropped off significantly.

Will be interesting to see if he can get back to where he was. Obviously, he played in a bloody good side when he was performing well - but he is a 24 year old with 70 odd games under his belt. If he is going to be a good player - its going to be the next 3-4 years.

No point trading on current form Remi, who will have the better career longer term is the question.

Hansen has great hands, a big body and can kick the ball a distance. I've watched Hansen play almost every game he's played at AFL level (as my wife is a passionate Norf supporter) and she and I would agree that Hansen is also physically and mentally soft, can't stay in the moment and apparently not a consistently great trainer.

Why would North be shopping around a player selected with a very high draft pick who is well built, tall, can mark, can kick?

I really doubt that Hansen fits the profile that BMac is looking for. Maybe the club will see something in Hansen that I don't, but if we want a recycled key forward I'd favour Dawes over Hansen and Gumbleton.

I've stayed quiet on the Dawes front. He has his limitations as a footballer but he's not a complete waste of space either. Let's see what we have to part for him if indeed this trade happens.

If Dawes comes to us then it is not much of an endorsement for Neeld seeing as they have an existing relationship etc.

Let's play a hypothetical game...Dawes comes to the club for pick 21 straight swap. That would mean we have effectively gained Dawes for Lake straight swap, with a downgraded 2nd round pick from 27 to 41. What are everyone's thoughts on this outcome?

Initially my reaction is it stinks but Dawes is 24/25 and appears to be a quality fella.

Also Lake wanted out so would you want a player that does not want to be there?

Yeah, I'm not averse to getting Dawes. I know plenty don't rate him, but I think he's ok. My biggest concern is his mobility.

I just hope if we do get him it's at a decent cost. Collingwood have already done well, getting 17 for Wellingham.

I'd agree with the bolded bit. Seems like the kind of guy that's good to have at a club.
