What are the positives to Dawes' game? He's not agile, he's not mobile, he's not a great mark and he's not a big goal kicker.

He works hard, runs straight and provides a contest. That is not worthy of a first round pick. We got the same out of Adam Morgan.

I'm not completely against your first point TBB - but I think you're selling Dawes a fraction short. When Collingwood were up and firing - Dawes was well regarded across the board.

He isn't a star - but at 24 years old - he's a mature body who, at least for all of 2010 - and much of 2011 pre-injury was seen as a key component of a premiership forward line.

Not a star - but a mature body, who at 24, with 70 games under his belt, could well have his best 3 or 4 years in front of him. Probably a presence that will help Jones and co.

Just caught up with this after a few hours - very funny to read the thread after a break

Hasnt been a dull week as a dog has it.

Im not completely against getting dawes, but I dont want to see pick 21 involved

Pick 21 for Dawes is just outrageous. I'm not sure what we are thinking and I'm a bit concerned about our approach. We've already lost out significantly over the past week with Martin and Hogan, please let us not lose out any further by offering up pick 21. I'm not adverse to getting Dawes to our club, as others have stated his best footy is potentially in front of him but I am at a lost how we are going to fit Roughhead, Cordy, Williams, Dawes, Roberts and Jones in the same side.

I'd be happier with pick 6 to sydney for Sam Reid and pick 42 and they could send pick 6 to Adelaide for Tippett? That could maybe get done and I'd happily live with it. I'll storm the barricades over Dawes. I've waited the last 16 rounds for the draft period and I'm getting emotional.

Toy hasn't even decided if he wants to leave the suns yet according to his manager:

GOLD Coast defender Joshua Toy is yet to make up his mind about whether he wants to leave the club and return to Melbourne.

If Toy does leave the club, the Suns are likely to demand a first-round draft pick.
