Happy to take a chance on Josh Toy's ticket. Afl quality and great kick. We are in a position to take a chance on him for next year.

Well, our welfare staff will just have to crack in.

I moved interstate at age 18 to a so called "elite" training establishment - there were a couple of bad apples amongst the lot and they certainly didn't change their ways despite 24 hour scrutiny.

Dayle wouldn't be the first kid to waste his talent - nor would he be the first troubled kid who turns it all around either.

No one said he was a bad kid, just that 7 days was too long for him to be on his best behaviour for.
Look I don't disagree with that, however, I still think we should have picked him up. As I said he is young and silly, but not a lost cause. Hell, no one wanted to recruit Darling because he played up at high school

MJP knows him better than anyone on this board and better than most of the recruiters, he endorsed him last year and that's good enough for me. Having said that, he could be drafted at the end of the year and then still stuff up. However, if you put in the right programmes and look after him whilst in Melbourne, he could quickly turn things around. We have a very good record of looking after our indigenous players.

I'm with you 100% on this one. We have Brett Goodes who may no longer be in the welfare role but is obviously skilled in that role. MJP's knowledge and experience of Garlett means he is better placed to make the call on him than anyone on this forum and elsewhere. Garlett has what we need, pace and skill, its the holy grail, hard to get if you're not a wealthy club. OK the 'no dickheads' culture may appear to rule Garlett out but he is exceptionally skilled and may not be a dickhead, probably isn't given MJP's inside knowledge. Don't let fear stop us from getting the class we desperately need.

Life is a calculated risk. Richmond thought the same thing about Franklin.

                      Here's Garlett's highlight package, he's obviously team oriented (he's #2):

Breaks your heart watching those highlights.

Without risk there can be little reward.

They can be the Kriss Kross of the Western Bulldogs with haircuts like that.
