Hmmm - well, MJP's musical tastes when he needs those songs to also be approved by Mrs MJP AND tied to the 1989-1999 type time-period. But with those caveats included, apply whatever lables deemed necessary!

I hadn't thought about Smudge for ages but "Don't Want to be Grant McClennan" randomly popped up on my Spotify feed on the Jan 26th holiday whilst I was cleaning out the garage. A task my 21 year old had committed to do with me....but he then left to go to a holiday bbq despite the fact that 99.99% of the mess is related to his 1989 Nissan 300ZX twin-turbo that he purchased against parental wishes prior to turning 17 AND has never driven on the road (to this day) even once.

BUT - the annual profits of several breweries and flavoured milk companies have been significantly boosted by his ongoing attempts to fix said car...meanwhile, my car and my wife's car - and his daily driver - are all parked out the front...

Great track though!

Has anyone listened to the "Just Ace 90's" podcast?

I've just started it and whilst it's admittedly right in my wheelhouse (I started uni in 1989) I've just finished episode 3 or 4 (whichever one is on the Hummingbirds) and it's been bloody awesome.

It's pretty good but too much on Frente and Silverchair (both yuck- later episodes).
His taste a little younger than me and it's very Sydneycentric but it's a great listen.
Yes that Hummingbirds and the died pretty one's are excellent
Still devastated Ron Peno has passed away.

Shit news. Tentpole cancelled.

Great news. Dinosaur Jr playing a second gig in Melbourne on the Saturday night(17th Feb). Got tickets yay.

I'm very upset Tentpole was cancelled. It was a great line up. Close to home, not too pricey considering one band is $70.
Why is it so?
