Just binged Jack Ryan and thought it was awesome.

I liked it but it didn't hold Mrs EW's attention so we didn't finish it.

Jack Ryan was excellent.


Watched a movie called "The Spinning Man" with Guy Pearce and Pierce Brosnan. Ignore the critics, it's fantastic. It's on Amazon Prime for those that have it.

If you like unexpectedly good Pierce Brosnan movies I recommend the "Ghost Writer". Slow burner but it was excellent.

We've been watching Line of Duty. It's ok - it's acceptable filler.

Ha ha Fair enough.

It's not bad - I like it - I'm just not captivated by it. I think I've been chasing the dragon since the portcullis went up on episode 1 of Game of Thrones and so far no luck.

I think Fleming looks too much like a confused paddle pop lion and Arnott is just angry John Richardson and it's distracting me.

Haha confused paddle pop lion I think thats the phrase of the decade.
Its contrived for UK drama but it kind of stays the course.

Lennie James who is amazing is in a series called Save Me which I highly highly recommend.

Watched 1899 and it was really shit.

Dark was first class TV and completely addictive. 1899 is ****ing hard work, and I'm not sure I'm able to keep it up even though it is typically stylish.

Have been thinking about Jack Ryan, might go that next. Currently doing True Detective because I hadn't to this point.

Jack Ryan for me was a bit mundane. S1 was ok, but couldn't get passed episode 2 of S2.

We dumped Netflix and got Disney+ over the holidays and it has a great selection of movies and old TV shows.

Currently binging Burn Notice (terrible writing, simple story line, corny but still love it) and Fresh off the Boat.

S1 of True Detective obviously got all the hype and kudos (and it was really good for about 90% of the time, batshit insane the other 10%) but season 2 is where TD truly peaks, imo. Colin Farrell’s performance is all time and Vince Vaughn’s character is just incredibly likeable.

Interesting, because S2 didn't get a lot of love from audiences apparently......which isn't always a bad thing though.

I'm enjoying S1 so will carry on with S2 based on the above. Cheers.
