Can we just give up on the Marsh brothers once and for all?
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Shaun Marsh has been one of our better performers with the bat this tour. I understand your frustration but he deserves his spot at the moment. Whether he deserved it initially is questionable.

This is the most mature Maxwell I've seen. Impressing me more than in any other innings I've seen from him

                    Smith with another century.

20 centuries & 20 fifties, amazing conversion rate. And now averaging over 60 and this innings ticked over 5,000 runs in 53 tests.

Amazing what happens when you have someone at No.6 who can actually bat.

Mitch Marsh's top score is 87 (2014). Factoring in Ferguson, Cartright and Voges one innings semi-recently - I think on the stats sheets I've read that if Maxwell scores 6 more runs its the highest score from an Australian #6 since 2013 or earlier, and it's already the highest score from a #6 since that 2014 innings.

                        Amazing in deed.

Hell of a toss to win. This looks like a road, so a 1st innings score over 500 should be the minimum expectation after such a strong day of cricket by the Aussies. Smith and Maxwell were fantastic - very mature and methodical.

one no ball in 90 overs is a fair effort from India. No wides either.

Maxwell has a very correct technique. He has an immaculate forward defence as well as the hand/eye power hitting thing. He can actually bat as well as slog. There's no reason why he couldn't succeed at test level. With him it's more about temperament and learning to bat in partnerships.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

This is one of the things about cricket stats that I find infuriating.

Smith gets a 50 and it is called his 21st fifty, buts moves onto 100 and suddenly he has only 20 fifties.

I think his record which is now 19 centuries, should be recorded as 39 fifties with 19 converted to centuries.

Nobody has ever made a century without first scoring a 50.

                                Great day for Australia.

After the furore during the 2nd test you just knew that Smith would make a statement in the best possible fashion.. That one would've meant a lot to him.. Over to you Mr.Kohli.

Great knock by Maxi, prodigious talent who showed lots of maturity... Hope he converts it.
