Re: Confirmed Trades, FS, FA, delistings etc for all AFL Clubs 2015

The question needs to be asked about why this is an issue now and wasn't before he signed an extension?

I keep going back to the fact that it's drummed into the players on the elite pathway what they will be giving up if they are lucky enough to get the chance to follow their dream into the AFL and that there is no guarantees where they will playing. There has been a real push by the players and their managers to have clubs accommodate players in going where they want regardless of their contract which isn't ideal.

Could you imagine the military being as accommodating for the service men and women picking and choosing where they will be stationed etc? I'm pretty sure in most instances they would simply say that you knew what you were signing up for when you joined. There might be the odd exception but it wouldn't be widespread.

If Cam McCartney is homesick he should go home but not publicly demand that GWS break his contract and send him to the club he chooses.

That's not a bad deal. Both parties got something out of that.

Hawks now hold 15 and 18, which they are prepared to give to Essendon if they can't get a seal with the Saints

Do North need another inside leaning midfielder? Anderson does offer some run and spread but from what I've seen his main trick is winning the hard footy. Callum Ah Chee may have been around at 15 and looks a nice fit for their needs

I think Anderson to the Roos is the machinations of an increasingly desperate club. They went after virtually every name player available in the trade window so far only to be knocked back time and time again, all manifesting itself in paying way overs for a "potential" good player.

Anderson might turn out to be a gun but worth a first round pick? No shot.

It's not national service. If someone wanted to go work for another company in their home state what would really stop them?

Someone who was under contract and wanted to go to a direct competitor? They'd either be expected to serve the remainder of their contract, or be released with a non-compete clause enacted preventing them from taking up employment with a competitor.

There's going to be some clubs over the next two years that learn that trading the magic beans (future years picks) has blown up in their faces.

It's not what you would have been picturing your whole life growing up.

                          Would be a massive disappointment.
And Gryfern was desparate to leave the captaincy of our great club to go there. Crazy sad.

If you join the military you have to accept that you will be stationed where they say and that includes being stationed overseas. You know that going in and if that doesn't suit you try another career. I'd like to see where the AFL has said to potential players you should be able to stay home regardless of which club drafts you. The players know the deal beforehand and are signing contracts and are then just trying it on.
