I'm sure in a good team Aleer would be good. It's a shame he's going to the saints and won't get to experience it.👍 1Comment

Assuming Jamarra is out the door would we consider Mihocek for a couple of years to play third banana to Naughton & Darcy? Instant upgrade on Poulter/Buku.
STALWART PIE ‘REFUSING’ TO SIGN NEW DEAL
Brody Mihocek is “refusing” to sign a one-year extension at Collingwood, according to the Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph.
Ralph revealed that a series of clubs have inquired as to whether Mihocek would depart the Pies if he could secure a longer-term deal at another club.
Mihocek is reportedly part of a contingent of senior Collingwood players who have been offered one-year extensions, but Ralph said the Jack Silvagni offer, plus Harry Perryman’s six-year, $900,000 a season contract from last year, “has to be a sticking point” for that group.
The veteran journalist said Melbourne and Sydney “would be in the hunt” for Mihocek if he wants to leave and up to half a dozen clubs have made inquiries.
The veteran Pie has booted 32 goals from 16 games this season and figures as a crucial cog heading into another finals series for Craig McRae’s side.
SECOND SUITOR CIRCLES SILVAGNI
The Western Bulldogs will meet with Carlton swingman Jack Silvagni “in the next fortnight”, according to Seven’s Mitch Cleary.
Silvagni is weighing up his football future and has reported interest from Collingwood and now the Western Bulldogs.
Earlier this week, Collingwood coach Craig McRae revealed he’d met with Silvagni himself as the Pies try to lure one of Carlton’s favourite sons to the AIA Centre.
But the Dogs have now thrown their hat in the ring as they look to bolster a leaky defence.
James O’Donnell and Jedd Busslinger have bright futures, while Rory Lobb’s move to defence in recent years has proved a masterstroke by Dogs coach Luke Beveridge.
Veteran Liam Jones has fallen out of favour, while Ryan Gardner and Buku Khamis have also been used in key position posts at different stages in 2025.
Recent reports have suggested that Silvagni’s offer from the Pies is four years at around $650,000 a season, but the Blues also have a similar financial offer on the table for him to remain at IKON Park.

I don't think we need a Michocek - kicking goals is not an issue. However, Silvagni would help the backline with some experience. Liam and Kennedy should have a good chat to him when he visits.FFC: Established 1883

Silvagni was out standing this year playing down back very solid and depedable , would instantly strengthen our back line and he uses the ball very well .
Michocek is a no for me , like Bornadog states , we dont have an issue kicking goals , Weightman will be back next year and his at least a 20 goal contribution, so we dont need a MIchocek but on the other hand a Silvagni would be a great get .Comment

Mihocek won Port Melbourne’s B&F as a defender in 2016. He was injured in the first half of 2017 and drafted by Collingwood at the end of the year. Collingwood changed him into a forward.
Even though he’s thirty-three next year I think he’s worth looking at. He’s a hard nut who consistently performs well.👍 1Comment

Coming off the past few weeks with Naughton and Darcy dominating it's easy to say we don't need another forward, but it simply won't be like that all the time. In fact most of the time it won't be like that. They will be out of form at times and likely to miss games sometimes as well. Would the answer be different back when Naughty was struggling and Darcy was out?
Sure a third tall forward is certainly not our most pressing need but any opportunity to improve the list has to be considered.
If Jamarra and Weightman were playing I wouldn't even consider it but the fact is they aren't and Jamarra probably won't return with Weightman a fingers crossed situation for next season. Our current forward line drops away in talent fairly quickly after the top few so I think we have to look at ways to keep improving it. Look no further than Brisbane where every one of their best 6 forwards is a threat.
That said if it was either Silvangi or Mihocek I would see Silvagni as a greater need.Comment

If Weightman injury is potentially career ending yes to Mihocek (whom I really like). And a definite yes to Silvagni. Both tough nuts without playing dirty. Gee they’d look good in RWB, along with Butters of course.Josie :)
Our day will come
And we'll have everything.
We'll share the joy
