Punchable head was worse than poor yesterday, plays on his own terms and needs the footy gift wrapped for him to have any influence at all. Yeah, Carlton seems a good fit.Comment

Fritsch would be a good get for them imo.
Proven goalkicker, who's value is never going to be lower. Gives them a third forward option on one devoid of anything quality after the big two.
Not sure why his form has been so underwhelming this last 18 months but it does seem to cooncide with the whole Demons club being a bit off the boil.I should leave it alone but you're not rightComment

He’s finally shown something in recent weeks moving into the midfield for sure, I watched him pretty closely earlier this year after our interest and he’s just not very good at HFF IMO. I think he’s finally shown he needs to play midfield and not forward but realistically we want him for the opposite and Kennedy etc have come in since so I just don’t see us as a good fit at all. Think all parties would be best to look elsewhere👍 2Comment

Pretty surprised that Judd McVie is still out of contract at the end of this year. He would walk into our team right now as a lock-down small defender (that's not saying much admittedly).
The other interesting player from Melbourne is Jake Lever. He was supposedly very pissed off about being dropped a couple of weeks ago and is now potentially gettable at the end of the season. Still only 29yo and is clearly a high quality defender. I'd be making enquiries, even with his highly punchable head."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Young Melbourne defender Judd McVee has reportedly opted to halt his own contract negotiations indefinitely, as he heads into the back end of the season still unsigned beyond 2025.
Speaking on Fox Footy’s Midweek Tackle, Herald Sun journalist Glenn McFarlane detailed the specifics behind the dealings on his future, as well as interstate interest.
“He’s had a contract on the table since last year; that’s always a bit of a worry,” McFarlane began.
“He’s a WA boy (who) hasn’t re-signed, but he’s also not fielding rival offers — so he’s just sitting there waiting, trying to work out what he’s doing.
“He’s keen to play as a bit more of an aggressive defender a bit further up the ground. That’s what he’s keen to do.
“I reckon it’s a watch-this-space at the moment. He’s not entertaining offers, but he’s also not signing that contract that’s been sitting there for so long.”
Foxfooty.com.au reported in early June that McVee was likely to attract interest from his home state once again this year, after preliminary inquiries last year.
Midweek Tackle panellist and fellow Herald Sun journalist Scott Gullan later floated the idea of rival interest looming around premiership star Jake Lever, should the Demons decide to shake up their list.
“They have to break up this core group; they have to,” Gullan said.
“Jake Lever — he’s sexy because he did play reserves a couple of weeks ago.
“(He’s) only 29 … he’s the gettable one I think.”
After playing three seasons and 56 games at Adelaide, Lever moved east at the end of the 2017 season to the Demons, where he has played a further 129 AFL games.
Speaking on Nine’s Footy Classified, journalist Tom Morris provided extra context on why Lever could be seen as a target this off-season.
“He was so angry when he got dropped. He felt he was blindsided (and) as a result felt he was disrespected,” Morris said on Tuesday night.
“Other clubs believe this is a watch now in this year’s trade period ... rival clubs are aware of how frustrated he was, and how angry he was. They’re just keeping an eye on it now.”
Lever is contracted at Melbourne until the end of 2028.
