Still being reported as the frontrunner for 4 including giving up the F1. Really worried that we're not hearing about more coming back. Maybe this is meant to give us the draft points needed for Croft? Future first for the equivalent of pick 12 in later picks? Does that work with the GC point calculations?

A good point I've seen raised is it's reported by 'rival clubs' that 'if needed' the future first could be involved and that this is the offer to beat. So the rival clubs probably hearing this from GC.

So it indicates that with all these hands to potentially play we're the front runner and we can involve a future first but probably not without something significant on the return.

Talk about trading the cow for some magic beans. I hate to say it but this feels like nervous decision makers willing to sell the farm in the hope of instant success that saves their own skin.

How high do we need to finish for that deal to not look ludicrous? If we finish 8th next year and it's 10, 17 and 11 for pick 4 still feels like a big price to pay. If we finish bottom 4 and have swapped picks 10, 17 and 4 for pick 4, we're an absolute laughing stock.

I still don't believe that it'll happen just because it looks like such a poor decision on our end, but these reports are making me nervous.

Wouldn't they be trading for ready made players then?

There has to be more to the deal.

Haha I have already heard the second one being mentioned if the bombers get McKay, Goldstein and Gresham . Seriously piss funny that the media are putting it out there again.

I heard Cooney on SEN last night talking up how great it was that players were nominating Essendon and what a great vote of confidence it was in the club.

Then you could almost hearing the gears in his brain turning as he said "if course McKay is the only player who might make them a better team. The others are really only depth players. But they'll get them all and only lost Zerk-Thatcher" The other host had hax enough by then and said "No. They'll have to give up more than just Zerk-Thatcher"

He might just want to leave them and get more regular opportunities. Swans have good types in his area and are aggressive in trying to bring players in, something has to give.

He might have been a first round pick but now - like Coffield to be truthful - he's shouldn't be worth much of anything.

Can he actually play senior footy? What are North doing??

My interpretation is this is like GC sending pick 7 to Geelong for a salary dump

I agree that if North paid up it's more on potential than results. He's probably going to attract some interest but it's hard to know what he's worth. I looked up his averages and it's around 14 disposals a game but there are some sub starts that make it a bit harder to gauge.
