Re: Early Trade Rumours 2023
A little interaction I had with Oliver.
I attended the 2017 Brownlow medal. I sat on the table next to Clayton Oliver. He was only a few metres away from me. He was 20 at the time. When he arrived he looked as immaculate as one can be with the limited looks he was blessed with.
However, as the night went on, he just disingerated. Jacket off. Tie off. Shirt untucked. Shirt unbuttoned. His pale white skin first went a light pink and then a deep red. His behaviour also got looser and looser as the night progressed. A few hours in I was deeply embarrassed for him and also suprised that no one from Mebourne had a word to him or pulled him up. He definiltey drank way too much and didn't handle it too well.
At the time I thought, here is just a young kid from the country, a lad having a good time. But if you have the type of relationship with alcohol he displayed that night and you don't get it under control it normally is the sign of trouble to come. It is not like he was out at a pub with his mates, he was on display in front of the entire football community.
