Re: AFL targets Essendon Royalty
Apparently Roy Masters was on radio in Sydney earlier today and his information from Canberra is that ASADA infractions are "a certainty" - November for Cronulla, December for Essendon.
Also from Sydney, Rebecca Wilson highlighted the fact that Cronulla undertook Dank's AOD and TB4 programs for 11 weeks, whereas Essendon undertook them for an entire season.
What happens at trade time??

GWS have said they will be happy to trade with Essendon for picks. How far they go who knows but Essendon could package something up for pick one.Don't piss off old people

Will be interesting to see if Roy's info is on the mark, but it would all be dependent on whether they can get Dank inteviewed IMO.
Problem is, Hird's employer didn't suspend him. If Essendon are stupid enough to pay him a full salary for 12 months and then welcome him back as though nothing had happened, that's their own stupid fault.Comment

Re: AFL targets Essendon Royalty
I think GD was referring more to the risks that Essendon placed their players at, which can still be dealt with by Worksafe if they're interested.
Rebecca Wilson is nothing more than a Rugby League apologist, and I pay very little regard to what she has to say.

Not being a lawyer, I don't understand this at all. There is surely enough circumstantial evidence to lay charges. Lawyers use circumstantial evidence all the time. In many cases, witnesses are reluctant and refuse to testify, in which case courts can use previous statements as evidence. I don't really understand the legalese behind it all, but to me, Dank failing to testify would only harm Essendon's case.
ASADA is a step closer to forcing individuals to assist in anti-doping investigations after new laws passed through the senate this evening.
The new laws give ASADA the power to force persons of interest to provide documents and materials relating to investigations and attend interviews by investigators.
Individuals who don’t comply with the new laws face civil penalties of up to $5100 per day.
Minister for Sport senator Kate Lundy said the legislation represents the next step in stamping out doping from sport.
“While this legislation won’t force individuals to self-incriminate in interviews, interviewees will now have to produce documents, materials and things relating to anti-doping investigations,” Ms Lundy said.
“Individuals who defy ASADA could face a civil penalty of more than $5000 for every day they refuse to cooperate.
This is a tough but appropriate penalty for individuals who refuse to cooperate with an anti-doping investigation.”
Ms Lundy said the legislation will also force those people who work with athletes at the fringes, but not directly employed by clubs, to attend ASADA interviews.
“While this legislation won’t change the outcome for current ASADA investigations, it does offer the potential to speed those investigations up. Importantly, this legislation will not just help ASADA do their job, it will help sporting organisations with their own integrity investigations,” she said.
The legislation will also facilitate information sharing arrangements between ASADA and Australia Post, provide greater clarity around the role of the Anti-Doping Rule Violation Panel and will update conflict of interest provisions for members of the bodies established under the ASADA act .
It follows a commitment to double ASADA’s investigative team after the release of the Australian Crime Commission’s organised crime and drugs in sport report.
The government will now try push the legislation through the House of Representatives in the final parliamentary sitting week prior to the September 14 election.Comment

Wow, well I guess if the players are rubbed out of the AFL at least they could be cherry ripe for the Spring Carnival!

FULL TEXT MESSAGE EXCHANGE BETWEEN DANK AND THE PHARMACIST
August 5, 2012
Dank: I need some help with this football team.
Pharmacist: Don't worry buddy. We can start them on the cocktails next week. When is there (sic) next game?
Dank: Next Sunday against North Melbourne.
Pharmacist: How are the soft tissue injuries looking?
Dank: S--. 2 more.
Dank: I know the mechanism.
Dank: Can the AOD and the Thymosin be mixed?
Pharmacist: I can test it out. Also, is there a problem with giving them an anaesthetic in the muscle? I have discovered a new polymer which will provide a slow release system while repairing damaged cell walls. Intramuscular injection.
Dank: No problems with that all.
Dank: Is it efficacious?
Pharmacist: Very much so. It's amazing and being used in the USA for elite horse racing. I can even put the thymosin and AOD in it.
Dank: Perfect let's get going.
Dank: Have we tried it on anyone yet?
Pharmacist: Few dental injections for periodontal sockets but not for sporting.
Dank: Did they go all right with efficacy?
Pharmacist: Yep it did the job. Amazing repair properties
Dank: Let us test a couple of players.
Pharmacist: Sounds good buddy. Speak soon."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Re: AFL targets Essendon Royalty
Just happened today. NRL player Sandor Earl issued with an infraction notice by the NRL for doping and trafficking CJC 1295, one of the substances listed in the Essendon charge sheet last week. Given a 1 year suspension.
The very same Sandor Earl had a secret try-out with Essendon to defect to the AFL, which was organised by Steven Dank. Hmmmm..."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Re: AFL targets Essendon Royalty
I see this morning that the AFLPA are requesting that all Essendon players be declared free agents. I've got to say that this is common sense... Something that I couldn't see not happening a couple of weeks ago. However cue the hysteria from the media and Essendon clique.
Truth is 80% of their players will stay and it'll galvanise the club. However the principle of them not being able to trade into the draft (if this request is adopted) is the right one. Good on the AFLPA.Comment
