The top-up players so far is also pretty funny.

    Crowley
    Kelly
    Simpkin
    Dea

Crowley & Kelly are past it (Seriously watch their stuff from 2014 & last season respectively), Dea is terrible and Simpkin is a good solid player. Seriously, Simpkin is the only player that I can say was a good pick up for them.

To be fair it's pretty lean pickings. Wonder if Darley has received a phone call?

Port are agitating for changes to the top up rules for clubs affected by the CAS bans. Hinkley makes some good points. If successful, we could be looking at another new Bulldog before the season starts
Saint, Dees and us should follow the charge. It is unfair that we all can't top up but they can't.

They could do worse than enquire about Ayce Cordy's availability.

They can't take another player from Williamstown since Dea was signed with them.

Given they need players for one year, Brian Lake and Daniel Cross could be considered as well.

                For one year?

With any luck most of the banned players for 1 year from Essendumb will leave and they'll be stuck with having to offer 2 r 3 year cotracts to all the top up players.

Lake reckons he's said 'no thanks'.

How are they going to go next post season? 12 spuds need retiring and/or de-listing and probably only a handful returning at best.

So 12 delistings of the temps, probably a couple of young spudly types gone too, Cooney will be cooked. That's 15 gone, maybe 5 back or rookie upgrades. They've got to find 10 or more players, and spend millions to make the salary cap minimum if some big names walk out as DFAs. And they haven't got enough good picks to trade for contracted good players even when they have pick 1 & 19. Their list manager has the worst job in the afl industry this year.

I've been thinking about that scenario - truly diabolical for them. Presumably others will be getting out also, although any half decent player may be tempted to stay for what would be a hugely inflated paycheque - way to rebuild a culture

Brian, like most newly retired players, has been in a pretty good paddock from all accounts too. Or at least catching up on a lot of the food groups AFL footballers are denied anyway.

He'd have a bit of catching up to do fitness wise.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

                          Poor them...

Maybe they can front end some contracts like Melbourne and have blokes like Frawley walk out a few years later. The only saving Grace for them was getting great compo for Carlisle & Melksham last year to get a bunch of high picks before this hit and spread their losses too. They could be down for some time, and if they become insolvent then they're front runners to have to relocate to Tassie.

Don't underestimate the power of cash.

The EFC will have cash to burn, and players only interested in monetary compensation will be lining up to "help rebuild the once great club, that is the EFC"

Watch at the end of this year when clubs actively trade with the EFC rather than smash them for their newly exposed unrestricted free agents. Can you actually imagine the AFL letting clubs rape the EFC list and allowing them to flounder without compensation?

It's not going to happen - irrespective of whether it should.

Whilst justice is going part way to being served, if you think you've seen the most perverted interventions by AFL House when it comes to this saga you're way off. The rebuilding of the EFC will be by far the most sickening component of the whole episode. And, you can be sure as shit at whose expense that rebuilding will be, just as I am.
                            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Like this post. Then again, Carlton, Melbourne. The AFL can try to rebuild all it likes. Some clubs are just inept.
