Fair call. Pretty hard not to be a cynic by now.

To me it sounds light a peanut independent senator who figures getting a few Essendon die hards on board might increase his share of votes from 2% to 3%.

No doubt he is beating a drum for his own ends, but EFC might be the last people who want a whole bunch of secrets exposed. If Dank has talked for 2 days, I can't see many at Essendon coming out in a better light than they are now.

By the way, I personally find your choice of derogatory terms distasteful

Who is the senator does anyone know a name? I can't find anything about it.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Here is link to article again. Senator in question is John Madigan, who is pretty much your typical independent tubthumper.

              Cheers.

He quit the party that got him elected and formed his own. You guys are right. He's probably worried the music will stop and he won't find a chair to sit in.

The way the system works, he needs a certain amount of votes to qualify for some electoral funding when he loses his spot.

Reports today Sean Wellman is running a training group of 8, including 7 banned Essendon players and Stewart Crameri. Curious it's not all the EFC players, wonder if half are sticking with the club and half are going.

I'd say a couple would be effectively retired because they won't get back on a list but I don't know why the others aren't. It kind of makes me worry about Crameri being involved if others aren't. I thought this was all in and that's why our guys didn't extricate themselves from another clubs mess 18 months ago.

Bevo was keen for him to join in.

I hope Bevo got advice from WADA about how good an idea it is in their opinion then.

Pretty sure PG understands the law.

Interseting we are still paying Crameri.

                              From The Age:

Suspended former Essendon players have been warned not to sign away their rights to future compensation claims as they negotiate with the club to cover their 2016 lost earnings.Jake Carlisle, Jake Melksham, Angus Monfries and Paddy Ryder are no longer being paid by their AFL clubs. Only Stewart Crameri of the former Bombers still playing AFL is still receiving his regular contracted money but the Western Bulldogs have not ruled out seeking compensation from Essendon.
The 12 suspended players remaining at Essendon are being paid an estimated 95 percent of their 2016 contracts.

I don't see why we wouldn't be paying Crameri.

We knew when we chased him that this was a possibility to happen within his initial 4 year term. We budgeted to pay him. So my way of looking at it, is that you pay him, and its one less (significant) thing for him to worry about during a horrible year for him - and you show as a club that you care about a valued member of the team.

(all of this is assuming that nothing in his contract, or our deal with Essendon - suggests anything to the contrary).
