I'm sure they can juggle their cap and let lesser players like Cox go. Even Grundy would make more sense, Moore is probably the last player they would want to lose.
Why would they lose Treloar? This isn’t just a case of us approaching Collingwood; we would have to be in the ear of Moore and ask him if he wants a premiership medal hanging around his neck in the next two years.

Because he was older and far easier to replace than a +200cm elite KPD. Treloar was/is being paid more than his worth through Collingwood's mismanagement, whilst $800k sounds about right for Moore.

If you can't see why Collingwood wouldn't accept peanuts for Moore I ask you this - fast forward 3 years and lets say we find ourselves in a similar position to Collingwood now - we've slid down the ladder, our window is closed in the short term and we have salary cap issues. Would you accept a fringe player and a 3rd round pick for a 25 year old Naughton?

He's let us know he wants to explore his options. I suppose we can understand why

English will be the only player from the 2016 ND if Lippa and Young go and we already moved on Fergus Greene

We aren't great at developing talls preferring to trade for them. Naughty is the exception

Lewis would be crazy not to go elsewhere, I reckon if he stays another year in the VFL his AFL dream will be over.

FWIW, a nice VFL player for mine.

It would be sad to see him go, given the 5 years we have put into him.

Lachie Henderson just retired and he was not an outstanding player, but still managed 206 games across 3 teams! He was never outstanding, did his job I guess, and even managed to stay in a Geelong team pushing for a premiership. If I had not checked his games played, I may have assumed he was Eker material.

Young has to be patient as there is a place for him in our team. Either as a #1 Ruckman or intercepting defender.

Does he really want to go to Carlton and be thrown across different roles ?

The grass is not greener on the other side.

Likewise with Lippa, if he goes to Collingwood, he would be in a weaker midfield. He may struggle to find the ball more or actually made to really earn it.

So Lippa, Young, West, Sweet, Wallis are all exploring other options. Did I miss anyone?

I think it was speculated that English might have put contract talks on hold until next year as well.

Henderson was a former pick 8 who played some good footy for Brisbane prior to gettign to Geelong (not so much for Carlton who never really trialled him in defence, having been drafted as a forward)
Lewie Young was a speculative late pick who has shown 'almost' signs.
I like him as a depth player but it's not shattering to see him go. TBH I see him as the new Andrej Everitt - definitely a talent, but lack a little competitiveness and where exactly does he play?

Just a question to all, who kicks the 50 goals Bruce did this year? Not an easy spot to fill. Can Schahce put it together for a full season? How many times have we seen a role player step up for finals but fail over the course of the year?

I think English as a permanent forward can kick 30 goals for sure, I'm a little more bullish about him than most forward of centre.

Marra and Weightman should improve a few lengths for sure.
Bang on. This is the big glaring weakness

Lol. He has literally played every tall position we have in the last two seasons and gotten maybe 3 games continuity in any one position. And even with this "versatility" has basically been ignored since his debut year.

If any club is offering him a spot on their list and importantly games anywhere then he should go for it, because we are clearly not interested in playing him.

Better to have to earn the ball in an AFL side (something he has zero trouble doing mind you) than be left "earning" the ball in the reserves because you can't earn your spot in the AFL side. Lipinski would not care about how he gets games and in what midfield, all he would care about is actually playing first.

I think for both these players the grass is much greener on the other side.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

I don't think it's speculation - it's been reported he is backing himself to perform better next year to put himself in a stronger negotiating position for his next contract. All reports have indicated he is happy at he Dogs and wants to stay. As far as I can tell any speculation about him is just 2 + 2 = 5 stuff - he hasn't been the ruck we hoped, he's from WA, we should trade him.

I still think we need to back him being the number 1 ruck man and look to find him some additional support.

Players managers starting to drop news.
Chol confirmed to GCS as a FA signing, Riccardi and Flynn both likely to re-sign with GWS

Roarke’s manager saying a deal will be done.

Super’s First son, Darcy looks like being traded from GCS. While his brother Ewan is still available to us this year. MacPhersons everywhere.
