Grundy rejected Port as they have a different philosophy to football that don't align with him.

Plus it seems likely Lycett will leave. Makes sense for Sweet to back himself to get a game against the likes of Brynn Teakle and Sam Hayes, rather than continue to sit behind the AA ruckman.

He's 25 and about find his place in the AFL world if he can get a gig playing seniors it will be interesting to see how he goes.
Rucks really aren't worth picking early unless they are a freak standout because how they are late maturing into the position.

My favourite Jordan Sweet story is still the airport one.
Bevo going through to board the plane waiting in line. Between he and Jordan is a young lady unbeknownst to Bevo.
He innocently turned and said hey Hi sweetie.

            Gold.

The other was recently when he forgot his id to get into the casino prior to an event I went to recently.

He came back red faced with Marra and Williams, the former happy to recount the story as they walked back to the car.

              Matthew Flynn at GWS.
              Ned Moyle at Gold Coast.
              McAndrew at swans.
Ramsden at the Hawks competed well against Sweet in the VFL final.

That's my pick of 'younger' potential back up rucks. Port also have a bunch of young rucks but not sure how good any of them are. Will be interesting to see what we do.

                Pretty much locked to Sydney.
Port getting BZT and Esava too - going to be creative as they have SFA picks this year (JHF trade last year)

Downie from Williamstown would be my pick as a pure backup

Ken doesn't seem to rate Lycett.
Sweet absolutely plays AFL at Port. Good luck to the kid

Could you describe him as a player, and what you like about him? I don't get a chance to watch much vfl.

He's more Hudson than English. Only mental health issues stopped his AFL career - anxiety.
Won Willy's B&F last year. He's 30 but a young 30 if that makes sense. As a back up ruck he'd do the trick and would cost nothing if he wants an AFL/rookie list spot

                            BULLDOGS FORWARD WEIGHING FUTURE

OUT-OF-CONTRACT Western Bulldogs forward Buku Khamis is contemplating his future after being starved of opportunities in 2023, despite a strong season in the VFL.

The 23-year-old managed only one game this season following the arrival of Rory Lobb and the continued emergence of Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.

Khamis kicked 41 goals from 18 appearances for Footscray, including five in last Saturday's semi-final loss to Box Hill after three in the first final against Casey, with only Gold Coast pair Chris Burgess and Brodie McLaughlin kicking more.

It is understood that the Western Bulldogs have tabled an offer for 2024 to Khamis' management, but multiple clubs have enquired about his services, with the athletic utility to weigh up his options over the coming weeks before making a decision.

Khamis joined the club as category B rookie via the next generation academy in 2018 and has played 10 games since making his debut in 2021.

The Bulldogs delisted Tim O'Brien, Robbie McComb and Cody Raak on Monday after Mitch Hannan was delisted last month and Josh Bruce retired.

Taylor Duryea, Hayden Crozier, Toby McLean and Roarke Smith are all yet to receive deals for next season and are likely to be forced to wait until after the trade period next month. – Josh Gabelich

He needs to go and we wish him well as we hope for some good draft points. That’s footy.

Well for his own career, he should.
