At the moment yes, simply because elite key position players are a rarer commodity - each of the 4 players mentioned fit our needs criteria though. I think the likelihood is we will get one of Kelly or Scharenberg as it's hard not to see Boyd and Aish going in the first 2 selections (regardless of who ends up with those picks).

There's still plenty of water to go under the bridge though so who knows who else may stick their hand up and come into contention over the next few months. In any event, we're going to get another very good player.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Aish would sit #2 on my wish list, but of course, I'm bias as I'm a South Aussie and a Norwood man. But on a serious note, he'll have 2 years experience playing SANFL finals against men come draft time, perhaps be a two time premiership player and has the class that we severely lack. Any of the top 4 should be great fits for us though.
Yep we need good skills, decision makers and outside play makers. I've heard he is all these things.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

        Bias No Way
He wasn't Match fit in the U/18's, so I'd take no notice of that.
Senior Footy is a big plus for mine, and playing against the bigger bodies.
Kelly nearly got picked up in the mini draft, and just think the Dees might fancy him.
The second pick is going to be interesting
Do we go with the speed and line breaker Hartung or a forward ?

What round do our posters on WOOF think he'll go in?
You've summed him up pretty well. I like him off a flank/ outside wing runner. I think he'll go late 1st to early'ish 2nd.

With our first pick I want pace, outside run, pace, damaging disposal, pace, and a player who kicks regular goals. - O I wouldn't mind someone with a bit of run and carry.
More of an In Bruges guy?

Only concern I have with Aish is that he is still very slight (as an example Jimmy Toumpas wss lauded by all but hasn't starred this year as hoped for). Also, my brain tells me that his Father Andrew was regularly in the sick bay at Norwood.

But I'd be very happy if we had him

(But happier if we can jag schazz)

Have our expectations on first year players grown to the point of being unreasonable?

I'd prefer Scharenburg but would be more than happy with Aish.

Thanks M.R.M. Be interesting to see who picks him up. Wouldn't mind him at the doggies.

Like him as a player but he is very small. If he slipped through to our second pick then yes but to me he isn't a top 5 prospect.

Agreed, given the number of quite short players already on the list I'm not sure if we can go for him at all - but definitely wouldn't want to with our first selection.

Surely our first selection will be out of Boyd, Aish, Scharenburg or Kelly (at present at least)? Billings is highly rated but im not sure if a small half-forward is what we really need at the moment.

Lets be honest though, with Gia retiring, Dickson questionable and being tagged to the shithouse we will have a need for a classy small forward which Billings is.

There's holes everywhere. Hartung and Aish fit into the small midfielder, which is one area we do have reasonable coverage.

True, but is our first pick paying overs for a small forward? I honestly don't know, he may be that good, but i would prefer a silky midfielder like Aish or Kelly at that pick

At three, probably yes, but Aish may be overs in terms of what we need at that pick.
