I went to the weezer / foo fighters gig a while back to see Weezer.
Left after two foo fighters songs I just couldn't believe how cock rock Dave had gone. Kurt was about to sack him from Nirvana he couldn't keep time.

Radio Birdman at the Croxton last night. For a bunch of dudes in their 70s they still rock out. Awesome night seeing Oz music royalty.

Did anyone catch The Jesus and Mary Chain when they recently toured? Got to their Sydney gig and a very good gig indeed. Have always liked them. They have released some new material over the last few years and they showcased this at their recent gig. Really enjoyed it.

Tossed it up, but was a bit overcommitted when tickets went on sale. Glad they were worth the effort.
I went and saw a band called Dark Thoughts play at the Old Bar the other night. Very Ramonesy sounding poppy punk. Loved the gig which came in just under the half hour mark. The kids were starting to get pretty excited, what with the moshing and crowd surfing. Shout out to Cutters who were the main support. Solid local hardcore.
Off to see The Stems tonight. One of the 400 local bands Ash Naylor is currently playing in.

Went to the Amaranthe gig last night at the Northcote Theatre in Melb. Sold out show absolutely rocking.
I did the meet and greet with the band too. Autographed poster, VIP laminate, photo with the band, and access to merch stand, and early entry to the GA venue. Got front row..it totally rocked. From Sweden on their first tour of Australia, they have been blown away by the crowds and the response on their Australian tour. Here part of their song “Boomerang” they did in the setlist, just for their Australian fans. I didn?t film it.

Thanks Azabob…yeah it was. I was there with my bro, and it’s amazing the amount of fans that just go by themselves. We were talking to 6-7 people going it alone…music is the universal language for sure.

Depends on the bands…whether it’s been KISS, Def Leppard, Whitesnake…they have all been what I was expecting and more at the time. I did see Ozzy Osbourne in NZ in 2008. He sucked, but Lordi and Poison were ALOT better than I expected on the same bill.
Stryper was really great live..I thought motley Crue would suck opening for KISS and they did. Saw Ghost last year and was really hoping the hype would exceed them, and I was right. Was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Mind blowing.
Having to get from Tassie, I need to fairly confident it’s going to be a good gig due to $$$$
