Cush Jumbo who I?ve seen in a number of shows and absolutely love her and Peter Capaldi who is utterly brilliant - this is the first show I?ve seen him in.
My lord, if you haven?t seen Peter in The Thick of It, then you haven?t lived. An all time great.

On another topic, episode 8 of Shogun?Holy shit!!!

Really? I watched the first episode and decided it sucked...is it worth it? The 'evil' copper who is clearly going to be protagonist#1 just presented as a cliche and, well, why???

I watched the first half of episode 1 of Ripley on NF. Having read a few of the books the actor playing Ripley seemed to be the least likely casting decision of the past 100 years...I feel like I'm seriously missing something in what clearly seemed to be the story of the first book. Anyway - I'm out.

I watched the first two episodes of Sugar on AppleTV and had a great vibe about it and a great lead actor. IN.

Reluctantly up-to-date with the Australian Blue Mountain based series with Leah Purcell whatever it is called...I feel privileged that my beloved has decided THAT will be the show we watch together because - after episode 5 - it can clearly be said that the script writers have been drinking the same mushroom tea as the artists on their commune.

On a totally other note, we went and watched Wicked Little Letters the other day. AWESOME. Funniest movie in years.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Did anyone catch Fallout's release this week on Prime?
Walton Goggins. He's just a great character actor. Loved him in Justify, Vice Principals and Righteous Gemstones, and it looks like he won't disappoint again in Fallout.

Intriquing opening episode. I thought I'd hate it, as someone who has played all versions of the Fallout game series, and I came away pleasantly surprised.
I'll keep going and see how the story arcs plays out. They've got all of the major game bases done well. I even love how they use stimpaks to help heal wounds. So many nice little nods to the game throughout, but they don't feel forced, or like that's all it is, one big game easter egg hunt.

The story arcs are all unique, it just uses the lore from the series. I'd be interested in hearing the views of any WOOFERs both familiar with the game(s) or TV series or both.

I know very little about the game and don't think I ever played it, which is exactly how I was situated for The Last of Us. I really liked that so do you think Fallout will be similarly enjoyable for us non gamers?

Is it set on the West coast (Original/Obsidian games) or the East coast (Bethesda)?

Because I'm familiar with the lore of both and the West seems much more interesting to me (I don't rate Bethesda's story telling/world creation nowdays)

I would say a mix of both to be honest.

Whilst I played the early Fallout 1 and 2 games. I did not play them through, and it was soooooooooooooooo long ago.
I really only have very reliable memories from Fallout 3 on to be honest.

But, the series is set near LA, so its clearly in the West Coast. But Bethesda are also involved in the production too, and there are clearly identifiable easter eggs and tropes that to me recall Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4.

I think so. I mean it's not as dark really as The Last of Us. It definitely has a little bit of the cheesiness that the game has. But that's not to say its a comedy. It's very much not!

I look at the Fallout World as a multiverse version of an alternative history of what could've happened in a similar nuclear age to the 1950s... but slightly more futuristic... 1950's style cars and designs but futuristic elements eg 'nuclear powered cars'.

Sci Fi, elements. e'g' mutations from the radiation. Societal breakdown and various factions and groups.

Give it a go. I think you'll have a clear indication of whether its something you like after the first 30 minutes.

I did. Fallout 4 is almost my fav game of all time.

It's true to the game, that retro futuristic feel.

I'm just at the end of the Lucy story which was awesome.

Only thing i wish they had was the intro music from the game it's so good.

You should go back and give Criminal Record a go with an open mind. They don’t hide the fact who the protagonist is.

Sugar is good, off beat, different.

Didn't know there was a game but Fallout is one D-U-M-B tv show.
