North Melbourne is weighing up a move for Jake Lever in the trade period. Simon Goodwin has previously said his premiership defender is going nowhere.

We should also ask the question

              I'm a hard pass.

With my history of 'dogs selections, mark it down in INK he's on his way to us.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Has a 2 year deal on the table from Freo.

I have no idea what we'd do with him. We can barely get Kennedy & Harmes in the CBAs as defensive mids.

The Age is reporting we're the second club currently chasing Jack Silvani.
I like him but I'm not sure he's the answer. I suspect Collingwood win out though.

We should be at least talking too him. I like the versatile players but it's always hard to beat the Pies on trades and attracting players.

I’m pleased we have thrown our hat in the ring. I really like his gutsy play & versatility. Hope he can have good luck regarding injuries, no matter who obtains his services.

The Silvani's are Carlton through and through right? Carlton people hate Collingwood? You never know.

If he's not the answer I think you're asking the wrong question

Think he is an improvement on Jod as a pure full back, on Coffield and Cleary as third tall def, and on Poulter and Buku as third tall forward. I'm pretty keen on him. He certainly improves our side.

This isn't a guy we're expecting to be AA. But he will be very valuable.

I don’t think Silvagni is exactly the type we need, I’d prefer an anchor FB as we already have decent 2nd & 3rd talls in def but he absolutely makes this side better and you jump at him as a free agent that can also play fwd/ruck and would be our best option there or in def.

Need Buss to develop his body over the offseason, 4th year in he should be starting to hit his straps. Him holding down FB would massively improve our side.

I actually think you could play all of Buss, JOd, Lobb and Silvagni in the same defence, if you’re only playing 2 key forwards - theyre all pretty good users, JOD & Silvagni can play smaller if needed too and also with both Silvagni/Lobb in the side one can be freed up to go through the ruck or fwd too. Gives us a lot of flexibility, and there might just be 5 on the bench too which makes that setup work even better.

Hawks for example routinely play Barrass, Battle, Scrimshaw & Sicily in the same backline, and that’s one of the best backlines in the comp. I think on paper Buss, JOD, Silvagni & Lobb compare pretty similarly as players (obviously the hawks boys are better/more experienced at this stage, but purely player type I’m talking)

Adelaide - Keane, Butts, Worrel, MM/Hinge again similar

Freo - Cox, Pearce, Ryan, Chapman similar again

theyre 3 of the stronger defences, I think it could work. Get it done dogs, sort of move which really helps to improve our side. Bringing in Cody & Silvagni next year would drastically improve two of our worst positions with experienced bodies. Still need another silky half backer to take some pressure off Dale.

A talk between Silvagni and Matthew Kennedy might lead Jack to reconsider his options. I’d take him in a heartbeat. A footballer who’s never been beaten because of insufficient effort.

The club should be casting a wide net.
Silvagni is a hard working defender or forward and a chop out option in the ruck. We should like that sort of versatility,
Malcolm Rosas Jnr is another player we should consider.
This will be an interesting year for who we could have on the radar.
