Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
My bad. Do you think Richards, Young, Garcia, Weightman etc ask for a trade out?Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
The other 3 I hope we're prioritising as re-signings and expect them all to stay. Richards is probably the biggest risk of leaving but it's pretty obvious Bevo loves him.Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Possibly as little as 90 days to delistings and the trade period opens. So time is running down for a long list - 17 players - of unsigned players:
Ed Richards - re-sign
Cody Weightman - re-sign
Riley Garcia - re-sign
Lewis Young - trade (walks)
Taylor Duryea - re-sign
Pat Lipinski - trade
Zaine Cordy - re-sign
Anthony Scott - re-sign
Louis Butler - delist
Mitch Wallis - delist/trade
Lin Jong - delist
Stefan Martin - delist
Buku Khamis (Rookie) - retain
Will Hayes (Rookie) - delist
Ben Cavarra (Rookie) - delist
Roarke Smith (Rookie) - delist
Jordan Sweet (Rookie) - delist
So what do you think happens between now and 90 days?
I’d obviously prefer to keep Young and probably Lipinski but somehow don’t think it’ll be up to us. Only hesitation on the other changes is how weak our draft hand is going to be after the Treloar trade and Darcy bid.- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment

Richards or Weightman are our best trade options to bring in a ruckman of any reasonable quality.Listening to Brahm's 3rd RacketComment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Trading Weightman would just leave another hole we'd have to fill. I think Lipinski + some future pick trading should be able to secure us a ruckman. I'm already resigned to going into a points deficit and I don't really mind doing that for one year. We're primed to win a flag and need to do everything possible to bring in the missing pieces while the opportunity is upon us.Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Not sure we want to go down the path to forcefully trade out our high end talent, especially in areas of need... different story if the players are requesting the trade .Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Half back flankers are our surplus, so for mine, if Richards can get us that ready made ruckman who can take the #1 mantle and allow Tim to play his best position, then I’d do it. No other player would be of any value.
I think Lewis will ask for a trade and I don’t blame him one bit. I think it’s disgusting the way the MC have handled him since his debut.
Butler gone. Jong gone unfortunately.
Wallis has no position in our team anymore.I will never see #16 the same!!Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
I'm not saying we will or should. Just that is what it would probably cost from the listed of uncontracted players. I doubt anyone else on the list would have enough currency.Listening to Brahm's 3rd RacketComment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Agree with what you've indicated. The only difference I have is Rourke Smith. Did a great job when he came into the side, but yet again has made way. Could someone else do his job? Are Scott and O'Neil not ahead of him as the bits and pieces players? If so Rourke is surplus and it wouldn't surprise me to see him delisted.Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
If I was doing the mandatory 3 delistings it would be R.Smith (Although he has been serviceable but he's a known quantity and is most likely reached his peak), B. Hayes (Other players offer a bit more in the position he plays) and B.Cavarra (Same as Hayes and as a mature player he needed to really make the most of it when he played.Don't piss off old people

Given the fact we are reluctant to turn the list over I can’t see how he gets the chop.Comment

To have the 3 spots we need 3 others that are on the main list.Life is to be Enjoyed not EnduredComment
