Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Soooooo, the folks at Ch9 are getting more batshit by the minute. I honestly don't know how we could have shown more faith in English as a ruck over his career. We're also on record as wanting at least two if not three tall targets forward, whilst English played ruck minutes on Sunday.

Honestly if he isn't a genuine ruckman why wouldn't we look to trade him if it resulted us in getting a genuine first ruck or key defender?More of an In Bruges guy?Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Because a competent forward ruck is probably the hardest position to trade for, and he is a more than competent example of a forward ruck - and should only get better.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

I’m actually not really feeling the need to replace Bruce but this guy seems to have real talent.- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Dumb question, how many open list spots do we currently have?
Jong gone = 1
Martin gone = 2
Lloyd gone = ??? has someone taken his senior spot?
Assuming Lippa and Wally go, then that is 4 or 5 spots? The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.Comment

1 plus any other retirements or trades. With two up our sleves if we want.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Nah. Darcy is the mega hybrid. Did forward craft is very good as a KPF. But his defence games this year have good watchers thinking he’s a gun KPD. Plus he’s big enough to ruck with a lifelong ruck coach.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
I read an article today that both Lippa and Wally have contracts in front of them and they are testing the waters to see what's out there.
I found the article and put it in the contract thread.Don't piss off old people

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
I know we're without Bruce next year but if English if so bad in the ruck that we play him forward, play Young ahead of him in the ruck and need to trade another ruck in, why not make English the trade bait? We've got pretty limited currency this year
English for Pittonet? If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Stranger things have happened boydogs. English has delayed re-signing. I think club wants to keep him but will be interesting trade season for sure. Depends a bit on if Young re-signs with us.Josie :)

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
I get English is not what we need as a ruck but he is so unique as what he is. Would trading him actually make us better?
I mean the only positions we need a game changing improvement in are ruck and key defence. But the players we need to fill those roles are not superstars.
The ruckman we need has to be not a liability around the ground and able to be competitive at a minimum in the ruck. The key defender we need doesn't even have to be good at anything aside from actually defending and providing us with structure. Those players exist and are not even expensive to acquire. We are a chance of getting both from the DFA pool.I should leave it alone but you're not rightComment
