A hail-mary on Munkara? Why not go all out on risk again after George
I'd love a small forward, then with two rookie spots we could target a ruck and a project KPD

Maybe the AFL told them not to.
It boils down to how a club can justify trading up to the number 1 pick only to hand that pick over to someone else.
The 10K isn't a huge thing but a bit of a consideration but it would have been easier for North to sell it to their supporters as they had the number 1 spot than it is for GWS to explain now.

They need to leave it up to North.

I'll be interested to see what we do with our pick 11 and if we were to bid on Alwyn Davey or not. I guess Essendon will have some contingencies in places to match it but I'd hate for them to get a slider at 4 a gun player at 22 and then the Davey twins after that.

I wonder if we shouldn't just pick Allan anyway?

I mean, I love Allan as well but ahead of Phillipou?

I think I would take Phillipou at #1.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

From a structure perspective we need a ruckman or a tall defender but will we stick with the best available approach?

Always with early picks. Later/rookie picks/DFAs can be used for specific needs.

I just watched Phillipou and he does look very good.

Kicks well on both sides, nice left foot on him and looks explosive and strong.

Goal v Vicm at Geelong where he burst away and took the game on was a real eye opener.

Only question mark I would have is speed for the midfield but he doesn't look slow.

His sprint tests at the combine were right up there and his endurance was impressive as well.
Athletically he looks more than good enough.
