    Re: 2023 Draft Watch

Is there a way we can give up Croft and secure high-end midfield talent? I'm not saying we tamper, rather, we just tamper.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

They could end up getting Reid at 1 and Sanders at 4. If you assume Reid goes at one and Curtin at 2 then GC would be happy that Walter goes later in the draft perhaps at pick 5.
North shouldnt receive pick 11 if they are going to get pick 3 for McKay and as others have said the whole Sanders being given NGA status seems like a distraction for something else.

This draft seems a bit thin for 'top end' mids but I still think there are a few maybes we could consider.
I do like some wing options and am keen to see more Leake footage - 189cm kid who started back, has played a little forward and midfield, really strong finish to the year.
He could be one to follow the Griffen pathway by starting in defence and becoming a strong mid over the years as he develops.

I can't remember a stronger crop of Tassie talent than this year. McKercher & Sanders as top prospects, Leake's in first round frame now, Shoenmaker should get his chance and Callinan kicked 6 goals in his last two games. Might get them at a slight discount if any clubs are wary of taking Tassie kids now the 19th licence is granted.

Leake did some brilliant things on the weekend and has had an excellent last month of football.
He has to be one of the more versatile players in the draft.

Billy Wilson is another flanker that started to show some midfield potential at the back end of the year. Accumulates a good amount of footy, will break lines and loves to overlap for a handball receive, puts on a big tackle and has a booming right foot. Think he lacks some of the polish to push into the first round contention but could be pushing his way up a few boards.

Right in time for a Tassie team to enter the competition. The go home factor would be HUGE!

Glorious day at Ikon Park and it's a close encounter between Eastern and Sandringham.

A few potential draftees on display.

I believe you can watch it on AFL.com if you want to.

Quiet, Charlie Edwards has done some eye catching passages of play. Ashcroft is a gun.

Ashcroft certainly stood out in the 10 mins I was able to watch in the first. It wasn’t high quality viewing in the whole while I was watching though. Basically played between the arcs with a lot of turnovers due to poor decision making and skill execution.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

How has Watson played? Does he look like he is worth pick 4?

He's just kicked a goal but he's not a reliable kick for goal.
Good on the lead and holds his marks. A smaller version of Cody in that regard

Windsor really seems determined to jump ahead of Darcy Wilson to be considered the best wing prospect in the draft.
His tackling has been excellent today

Watson is playing like Watson. I still rate his ball use whenever he wanders up the ground a bit, actually looks for target rather than just boots the ball long.
Wetherill's good end of season continues. Just keeps presenting.

Sanders, as usual, is racking up clearances.

Gallimberti's grandson having a few moments too.

I'd 'reach' for Sanders ahead of taking Watson at this stage. If we're looking at small forwards, I'd just grab Callinan later in the draft.
