That is quite frightening, once those rules are in place they are hard to wind back fully. But I'm not sure what the answer is otherwise.

What happens if you can't be vaccinated for whatever reason?

You'd imagine that approved exemptions would be documented on your 'passport'. As crappy as it is in Australia right now and as incompetent as our federal government seems to be, we are lucky to be able to spectate from afar at how these approaches play out and let it dictate our own decisions. Whether we take heed is another thing, I guess.

Yes I expected a uniformity and collegial approach not unlike natural disasters. I mean that's basically what it is. Floods, fires we come together and help each other as Australians. Maybe it's because we've done it before and have a plan. With this the policy is being created then immediately dissected in public in real time, and Governments find it hard to admit fault lest they lose sweet sweet voters. So they double down.

The way the mainstream media has politicised and sensationalised the pandemic should result in criminal charges but it won't. Has completely undermined public trust while also manipulating decision makers to act in certain ways that aren't in the best interests of the population.

I suppose one good thing about NSW's troubles is the language around dealing with it is changing - maybe there's some hope for a uniform approach.

It's a pretty dynamic situation though. It wasn't that long ago that heaps of people were saying things like "%97 of people recover from it so why worry" and we're realising that actually %3 of the population is a crapload of people.

I hope everybody is doing ok in lockdown. Fingers crossed we are free soon.

Removing politics for a second (if possible, I'll do my best) NSW's premier has just said (paraphrasing) "all other states should send their vaccines to NSW because this is a national emergency".

I want to pick apart that statement, swirl it around my head and slam it repeatedly into the ground until it actually doesn't exist anymore.

The biggest concern for NSW right now as Comrade's pointed to is the cases in the wild. This time around our steep rise of our delta outbreak is tempered by mostly known/ isolated cases for transmission.

The Y axis on the graph compresses which distorts the shape of the curves a bit.

Another approach could be NSW goes into hard lockdown, everyone else gets vaccinated in the meantime.

No didn't you hear, all vaccines to NSW because they're having a national emergency.

She is the Ned Flanders' parents of leaders when the pressure mounts.

Just to put some fuel on the fire.....pardon me, add a little context, she also said NSW did the heavy lifting over the last eighteen months, by which I think she means international travel intake and quarantine, and this actually shows she still doesn't understand the sacrifice made by going into hard lockdown and how important going into hard lockdown is.

Now, to be fair this strain is more infectious than previous strains, and risks are higher even in harder lockdowns. But, playing the cards she's playing through hard diplomacy isn't a great idea.

I’m booked to go too and post the game are due to head to Barnbougle for 3 days of golf.. desperately hoping I can go.

Have you played it before?

I was there five or six years ago for a couple of days, bluebird conditions and barely any wind. It was magic and almost cheating......well it might have been almost cheating if my golf wasn't so putrid.

Yeah, I've played both courses a few times... awesome place.

Looking forward to my first look at Bougle Run which looks like loads of fun.
