Looking at the fixture. Even if they added 3 more days to 11.59pm Friday, things should fine albeit without crowds in the near term.

I think it's more to do with each state's health departments. If numbers continue to climb, I doubt SA is going to let the Crows come into Victoria without some strict quarantining required afterwards which might not be workable.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

If Olympic athletes can get vaccinated to play their elite sport? Considering AFEL is a multi billion dollar industry, why can’t the players and essential staff get vaccinated too? Then the risks across state lines is mitigated. It’s less than 1,500 (x2) jabs from the supply.

Because the Federal Gov forgot to put the order in and there aren't enough vaccines.

Hopefully in the next month Pfizer starts to roll in.

PS: This is not a political statement, it is fact.

            It is a political statement.

The original plan was the AZ which could be manufactured locally. We also have been deferred due to greater need elsewhere in the world.

The answer is not black or white and we are captive to reporting bias.

Re: Coronavirus Info & Helpful Direction

              I will rephrase:

2,000+ olympians, Paralympians and staff got vaccinated. Their sport continues internationally.
2,000+ AFEL Players, Coaches and staff aren’t vaccinated. Our sport could stop domestically.

Why do some athletes get it and some athletes don’t? Whatever the government ordered isn’t the answer. There’s enough vaccines for olympians and staff. The footy industry is a multi billion dollar industry that employs a mammoth amount of people. Our footy athletes and staff if fully vaccinated mitigates states from draconian quanartine on the players and could ensure the season finishes in tact.

It seems like a huge double standard to give vaccines to young olympians et al and not young footballers et al. Has the AFEL has for a blanket exemption like the AOC has? That answer is more applicable than the generic order for the nation.

For team looking to finals. Should those teams get Pfizer now and second before the end of the season so finals can go on without cross border lockdowns?

I agree that is a huge double standard and see no reason why the professional sport industry domestically is not afforded the same priority as Olympians.

You just beat my edit. If the top 9-10 or 8 all got the Pfizer now and in 3 weeks then the finals should continue without lockdowns on the teams. That would cut the total doses by about half. I wonder if the journos who read woof would be interested in the league and public sentiment to that. The fairness and integrity on of our finals deserves it.

Re: Coronavirus Info & Helpful Direction

I reckon there'd be rioting if everyone associated with the AFL was given Pfizer ahead of the queue! Or maybe not given people seem relatively cool with Olympic athletes getting it.........

FWIW, I would be pretty disappointed if AFL personnel were prioritised. I'm not in favour of Olympians getting prioritised either, especially when we can't get enough needles in the arms of people who are essential workers in care based industries etc.

Here's a summary of how we got to be where we are:

Here's some more information, albeit a month behind current:

The country has been far slower than others including the UK and the US to immunise its population.

More than anything else communication around the strategy/ rollout, and the over-dependence on the AZ version has stymied the rollout. The "front of the queue" rhetoric, the "not a race" rhetoric and the mollycoddling of anti-vax sentiment hasn't helped. This all means we've now got a perfect storm of hesitancy, complacency and undiversified supply and thus, a slow rollout.

It's easy to be critical with the benefit of hindsight, of course.
                    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Mildura just had a positive case which seems to be a bit of a bellweather for 'regional outbreaks' i.e. if it gets to Mildura it can get anywhere.

I doubt it because there is now a case in Mildura

Black and white? Do we have enough Pfizer? Answer is no, therefore we can't vaccinate the population under 60.
