The claim that the risk of death is 1 in 35 needs to explained better. In Australia the Case Fatality Rate(CFR) is 36 deaths per million / 1387 cases per million = 2.6% which is close to 1 in 35. However it was noted that risk higher for older age groups (conversely much lower for younger age groups).
The case fatality rate for those less than 50 is around 0.3% and actually much lower because actual number of infections is much higher than confirmed infections. Antigen studies in US have put actual number of infections 4 to 10 times higher and that factor considerably reduces crude death rate. Estimates of the infection death rate are around 0.35% (much higher for those in older age groups and much lower for lower age groups).
