The Go Set on Oct 22nd, good Australian folky punk rock.
Toss up between:
Frankenbok, Dreadnaught, Terramaze @ Barwon Club on the 22nd. Will be a great metal show or
The Currency 22nd Aug @ East Brunswick Club, ex drummer from Living End and bits and pieces from Mutiny (who are top notch) playing colonial folk rockabilly stuff.

Barwon club I reckon. Road trip plus it's a better venue.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
Best festival line-up I've seen in ages for the 2010 Soundwave installment:
(I know there's some Clutch fans here already)

I don't like 95% of the bands at Soundwave, but will probably go just to see Clutch & Janes Addiction. Have never seen Isis live which would be interesting too. Reel Big Fish would take be back 10+ years.
I'm a big Weakerthans fan, although they shouldn't be on that festival, they'll get drowned out big time. If it wasn't for the decade old Propagandhi link they wouldn't get any attention from that scene. Mostly I just look through it thinking "Wow are those guys still/back together".
No offence to any Jane's fans but it's over, those guys need to move on/give it up.
Park that car
Drop that phone
Sleep on the floor
Dream about me

I'm not a big Jane's fan and haven't heard their new stuff so I am not going to judge. But I did see the brand new Alice in Chains video today, not so good...
Gigs that I'll be going to soon include the Nation Blue album launch, pondering seeing Samiam at the arthouse although it is probably sold out already. Not music, but can't wait for Neil Hamburger's show coming up at the Northcote Social Club, he's always worth $12!
I'm new to the forum so I'll be coming back to these threads, I don't know any bulldogs fans that aren't related to me that enjoy good music!
Justin Townes Earle (Steve Earle's son) will be doing the lunchtime slot at Basement Discs on 02 Oct. He is playing that night at Thornbury Theatre with Wagons supporting.
Mofra and I went to see went to see Monster Magnet on Tuesday at Billboards. My first time there in about 20 years.
