Also whats the venue like? Similar to anything else in Melbourne?
Awesome show - Wagons opened with an older song (off Curses & Lightning) and didn't play man down, but it was a great set & they won new fans.

Justin was on fire, has a very relaxed manner and is a natural finger picker. He was up solo (no band) and completely owned the stage & venue. A couple of shouted requests were merely met with a "hey Buddy - show's up here".

The venue is easily the most beautiful in Melbourne sounds pretty good. Only drawback was teh bar - it is basically the old snack bar and is woefully inadequate, which means it takes quite some time to get beer (which is a little overpriced as well).

Twas a great night though - I wore cowbow boots, Wagons T & a western shirt, only to be upstaged by my sister who flew in from Austin, Texas that morning and was wearing a brand new black Stetson.

Sounds awsome. I pretty much cant stop playing his new album.
I'll have to check out the venue to see what its like. They are really getting a few acts in there now.
So where are you going overseas?

No, I only know a few songs, but my husband, brother & brother in law are all going. Should be a good concert. Festival Hall is a great venue for metal.

Pavement have just confirmed the Australian leg of their world tour - they will be here in March 2010. Never thought I'd see these guys reform but I stoked that they have.

My son (bass guitarist) has just started to hit the scene with a band called Ill Omen playing at the Waterloo Cup Hotel this Friday, battle of the bands.

I find it quite amusing it is an over 18s night and 2 of the members are underage so a parent must go. No I am not going its full on death metal and I need to preserve my hearing for work the next day.

I do find it amazing the amount of opportunity their is out there, the band already has a cd for sale in the city and a promotion company are finding them little gigs everywhere to start.

Little entrepenuers they are, shirts are already on sale and guitar picks with band motiff is next.
Facebook and myspace sites are up with clips of them playing.

Gee, you'd be happy with it being postponed until February.......

Read in todays paper that due to high demand in Adelaide & Perth he has to do more shows, so has moved it to February to accommodate. Hope you got cheap flights!!

If anyone's a Blitzen Trapper fan, they're selling 2 for 1 tickets on the Hi-Fi Website to their show next month - set me back less than $45 for the two of us - they did the same thing for VHS or Beta last year as well.
