I saw him do spoken word at the Geelong Performing Arts Centre about 15 years ago - funny as.

IIRC Dan Sultan is a local boy. I'm sure there is a picture of him in the ex-students photos at Footscray City Community College.

I might be thinking of Dan Kelly though. Too many Dans.

Got tickets for my upcoming 30th and I can't wait.

Thanks mate. My 15 yo Nick Cave adoring daughter wants to go. Maybe I will take her and we can hang around outside like I used to do at gigs when I was her age. Not with my dad though.

Kylie Auldist at Max Watts last Monday was fantastic. Such a brilliant voice and the quality of the acoustics in the room was phenomenal.

Dan Sultan at 170 Russell this Sunday. Always a good gig.

check out Fulton Street. They are a soul band and often play with Cookin on 3 burners who Kylie has performed with many times.

Fulton Street often play the Cherry Bar and other inner city venues and often pack them out.

I went to the Parquet Courts w. Tyrannamen & Ausmuteants gig at Shimmerlands and also saw Car Seat Headrest at the John Curtin. Enjoyed both hugely, although CSH doing 2 covers in a 1 hour set was questionable.

I went to the Parquet Courts.

I bet Parquet Courts were fantastic live. I was playing dad that night so couldn't make the gig - shattered. Was the set list heavy on Human Performance or did they play a nice selection from all their albums?

I was there too; was it just me or did they deliberately tank the first 30 minutes of the set? Ausmuteants and Tyrannamen are always a good time.

As an aside I hated the venue. Felt like how imagine it feels to be at the races.

I saw them at the Hi-Fi last time around which I thought was a better performance, but still enjoyed them. They're definitely a solid live act.
Rolled out 4 or 5 songs from HP to start then mixed it up from there.

Tyrannamen are one of my favourite bands at the moment. Killer tunes.
I didn't mind the venue, thought it was pretty *!*!*!*!ing loud. Clearly had a hard curfew at 11.
Their set did have a bit of a wierd vibe for a bit but I thought they warmed into it.

I did the same thing! Bought a ticket for the Saturday cos loved Thursday ...it was my 7th time...agree no one better
