Re: Recent Gigs & Upcoming ones

Caught Queens of the Stone Age at Festy Hall last night.

Rollicking good gig - I did lots of bad dancing and the band was smart enough to only pull out 3 songs from their new album and stick to the old/er stuff. And waaaaaaaay better than being at Rod Laver like they were last time.

Bit of a contrast to the last gig I'd seen - Sarah Blasko solo at the recital centre!
Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell

Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

And we all found heaven - 2016 Premiers!

Haven't been to Festering Hole for years. I spoke to Joey Ramone out the back while they were loading in one day. We went past in the train and I said "that's Joey! I'm getting off the train at North Melbourne to say hello!" So I did and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made, Joey Ramone talked to us for ages.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Re: Recent Gigs & Upcoming ones

I've got a big few weeks at the end of the year.

        Alice Cooper Oct 20th
        Midnight Oil Nov 4th
        Live Nov 11th

I'm glad there was a large gap between buying tickets. Live surprisingly the most expensive ticket I bought.

          How much was Oils G-mo?

I last saw them at the Venue in St Kilda. They were supported by Warumpi band from memory. Must have been 1987.

$100 each. That's a GA ticket at Hanging Rock though

A hunj to see Oils. I can't believe that I am saying that's not bad.

The tickets to the Venue show were probably 7 or 8 bucks and I probably whinged about it at the time. "*!*!*!*!en eight bucks to see Midnight Oil? That's outrageous!"

$15.00 was nothing compared to the $25 i had to part with to see Springsteen in April of that year.
Hunnas would have still been pretty primal back then.

That's one of the better yarns I've read. Visited lots of Ramones landmarks when I went to the US and intended to visit Johnny Ramone's grave but it was raining and I was hungover. What year? I was too young to see any of their gigs.

Going to see midnight oil in Nov. A lifetime dream I never thought would happen.Have loved them since I was a kid, onlyhavehad onechance to see them so far, but I had to sell my ticket.it was their last Melbourne show Took my mum to see JohnFarnham after her friend fell ill and couldn't go with her to see his "last time" tour. Mongrel.

I had a friend in high school who's mother was president (or some such post) of the official John Farnham fan club. She went to every single date of that "last tour", which included following him interstate on the night of our year 12 valedictory dinner. Friend was incredibly unimpressed.

Don't mention *!*!*!*!ing John Farmhand to me. Grrrr! Back when the black Saturday bushfires happened they had a benefit concert headed by WILLIE NELSON! Willie Nelson, wow I'm going to that. So we trundle along to the Bowl on the day, sit trough all the other acts and it comes to time for Willie and Michael Chubb walks out and explains that Willie is sick and can't make it but, luckily, to fill in heeeeere's John Farnhammmmmm!!!!!! *!*!*!*! me sideways I couldn't get out of the place fast enough.

Must have been 1989 I guess. We lived in North st in Footscray in 1989 that would explain why we were all heading home that way instead of towards the city.

Joey was sitting on the ground outside the stage door with his back to the wall and all the time we talked to a girl was just staring looking at him not saying a word. After a bit we pointed at her and said "how long has she been standing there" "about an hour now"

Going to Me First and the Gimme Gimmies tonight.

Seen them a few times before and they are always a laugh, this time they are using Chris Cheney from the Living End on guitar which will be interesting.
