Re: Recent Gigs & Upcoming ones

I will also be there. Haven't seen them before but am a big fan. Also have tickets for Arctic Monkeys when they come out later.
I've got tickets for the National too, can't wait!

I saw Grouplove last night at the Hi Fi. Admittedly, I wasn't really across their latest album, but they put together a fantastic set (the place went absolutely nuts for "Tongue Tied"). I'm looking forward to Laneway too, it will be my first time checking it out.
Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell

Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

And we all found heaven - 2016 Premiers!

I looked at going to Grouplove but couldn't really find anyone else interested and I don't know/like enough of their stuff to go by myself.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Terrific concert. Joe Camilleri is always great value. The Angels are still rocking the house down. And Suzi Q at age 63 is still the Queen of Rock.

I loved Dave Gleeson in his 'old' music life, he does he go live fronting the Angels?

Yes he has been with them for 2 years. Was with the Screaming Jets for a long while. Really belts out a number. Band was started 40 years ago. Two original members are still with them.

You gotta love the crowd participation in the song "Am I ever going to see your face again".

Heading to the Corner tonight to see 'A Celebration of Led Zeppelin's '72 Kooyong concert'. Remains to be seen whether there is a repeat of that concert where people hundreds crashed through and got in for nothing. And Plant telling the crowd to shut up... should be loud though.

Went to The National last night at the Myer Music Bowl. One of the very best gigs I've ever been to. They were exceptional live, and even their slower more and downbeat songs really popped in the live setting (especially 'Demons'). Was great to hear a bunch of songs from 'Boxer' and 'Alligator' and not just the last two albums. Standouts for me were 'England', 'Afraid of Everyone', 'Bloodbuzz Ohio' and 'Mr November' - the crowd went nuts when all these songs started cranking up. Matt Berninger is a very charismatic frontman and really worked the crowd beautifully - towards the end he was crowd surfing and singing right in the middle of the throng. Very generous gig as well - easily passed the two hour mark. The Music Bowl is fast become my favourite live venue.

Also attended the National last night and was impressed. Much rockier than I expected and as Sedat says less downbeat and moody. His voice sounds excellent live and Mr November where he ventured through the crowd was awesome. Loved watching him yanking on the mic cord to get just that little bit further.

I had some criticisms like I usually do regarding set list and what they could/should have done with certain songs but I can't really complain as I had a great night.

I made the trip down to the big smoke to catch Ed Kowalczyk at the Forum. Excellent show, performed "Throwing Copper" from start to finish plus extras. Such a great performer with tons of energy. I'll make the effort to go and see him very time he comes to Australia.

Alexxx, I saw Bruce last night. Amazing amazing performance, definitely one of, if not the best, concert I've been to

Three and a half hours non stop, and still I wanted more at the end. I'd happily go back again tonight

I have seen Courtney Barnett queit a number of times over the last 12 months. Love everything about her, the way she sings and the songs she writes.

They have just left for Europe and then the next step is world domination...
