Change of pace for me - seeing The Nude Party at the Curtin on Thursday - poor man's Rolling Stones if you will, but seriously catchy retro psych (the dudes voice in a couple of tracks is VERY Jagger)

Band room upstairs - it's smallish but not bad. The Old Bar in Fitzroy is probably the smallest 'stage' / band area I've seen.

The main bar downstairs is a cracking boozer

CJ took over on the bass when Dee Dee left to become a white boy rapper in the late '80s. I saw CJ play with the Ramones at Festival Hall (or it might have been the Palace, it was a big week) not long after. Mostly I remember Joey counting them in between songs-ONE, TWO, FREE, FOUWA!!!!!

Just got back from the Lost Lands festival. Really good family friendly fest. Bit wet but.

Well. I've got tix for Friday and have been in touch with the band who have assured me I can come Saturday as well 'if I am in Melbourne'. The challenge is, I don't have a footy fixture for the WAFL as yet and am coaching so I don't even know if I can make it to the concert I have paid for.

I feel like I have been waiting to see these guys since 2008 and am pretty determined to come across but...

Why would they come to Australia in footy season? Don't they know I've got sh!t to do!!!

Seems a good week to allocate some extra responsibility to assistant coaches for development purposes. Hold Steady shows are rock and roll church. You put life on hold for them, not the other way around....

I've been emailing back and forth with him a bit (I was half planning on going to the Brooklyn Bowl shows this year) and - depending on who/when/where we are playing he wasn't totally against the idea of an afternoon at the footy...
