Is that the only metric? TBH we have enough goal kicking in the midfield, I think better delivery forward and connection from the back half to the forward half might be more of a priority for our wingmen no?

He apparently was a forward initially and had good finishing skills but again I've not exactly watched him much so we're probably both just guessing based on a stat sheet and the one game we saw.

If we get him for a pick in the 40s it's an absolute steal.

The pick given up is my thing, being that his GAs aren’t huge either. He has some soft outside speed which is nice, but that’s about it. It’s a fringe trade I won’t lose sleep despite not being big in him, but is he actually costs something significant like a second rounder, then I can’t get on board.

Thomas is a recidivist and he'd need a substantial clear run of good behaviour if I were to consider him suitable to join our club.

If anything in the AFL recruitment field is to be believed, the rumoured offer to English is 8mill over 5 years from the Weagles..

We'd be stupid to even consider matching. And god knows I wouldn't take anything short of pick 1 for him.

                        Grundy anyone?

If that is true it is pick 1 + something.

Regardless of the size of any offer, English has trade value at Pick 1 plus.

Should not and can’t match that.

Needs to be Pick 1, plus a pick to satisfy Melbourne for Grundy (say 38 and Melbourne pay Hunter in full and leave us our cash alone). I’d probably ask for a F2 as well.

                              Out: English
In: Harley Reid, Grundy, Pick 19 2024 (F2)

                              English vs Jackson:

                              Jackson (plus Picks 44 & 67) - for - Picks 4, 13, 22 (3,660 Draft Points)
                              English - for - Picks 1, F19 & 38 (4,413 Draft Points)

If it made things easier and we wanted to trade Pick 34 for points on Croft, I’d do them a DP trade for extra points and let them claim they got a second rounder back from us.
