    Re: Father/Son Watch

    Updated Croft Current Power rankings:

    Pick 13 - Cam Twomey
    Pick 14 - Rookie Me
    Pick 15 - Fox Sports
    Pick 19 - ESPN
    Pick 19 - Inner Sanctum

Our current picks are 12 & 16. With two matched bids before Croft, they are then Picks 14 & 18.

I said it earlier this week, but we need to deal with GCS for 6 & 28 for our 12, 16 & 34. We need to get ahead of the bid, as Croft is not sliding down after a relatively slow champs.

I think the Suns have a lot of work to do to land their picks and while pick 6 could be gettable perhaps pick 24 will not be but I like this thinking.

Could West Coast be another option given they'll be interested in some local players who are currently projected within our draft range of picks 12 and 16? They have a couple of picks in the 20's and of course pick 1.

The net effect for GCS on above is +489 Draft Points. I think it’s a good deal for them.

With the aim of getting ahead of our where our first round pick currently is, WCE have just pick one currently. So I don’t see a DP trade there. Yet.

But if Melbourne go after Pick 1 with current Picks 4, 15, 22 and future swaps (1st for WCE 2nd). Then WCE have 4, 15-18, 19 & 22.

If we could get Pick 4 and 37 for our first two picks, WCE then have 12, 15, 16, 19 & 22

        Then Pick 1 = Pick 12, 15, 16 & 22 plus upgrade F1 from a F2.

Dogs have pick 4 and points for Croft mid-late first round.

We just need to find a way to get ahead of the Croft bid, and luckily we’ve got the picks to do it.

It is now 2025. Can you play the following players in the same team?

          Croft 201cm
          Darcy 210cm
          English 208cm
          Marra 197cm

If one of them is a defender, yes. If not... someone has to miss out

Has Darcy grown more? Listed as 208cm.

Busslinger 198cm and JOD 197cm a fair chance of being in the side too.

No. This is what i've been saying throughout this thread and our 2023 list management thread. We seriously have to consider if we match a bid on Croft if it comes in the top 20 picks which is a very real case.

If he can play back then I'd be slightly more comfortable with it.

                  He has grown.

"Since joining the Dogs in November last year, the teenager has grown an astounding 5.5 centimetres, bringing him to 209.5 centimetres, which makes the now 19-year-old taller than Melbourne captain Max Gawn and Hawthorn big man Ned Reeves and among the tallest in the competition. For context, Collingwood’s Mason Cox is 211cm - behind only Richmond project player Mate Colina at 213cm."

I’m sure we can play one as a defender. Is English a lock to stay? Also there’s potentially four key forwards at worst. Four is a good number of list spots for KPFs imo. Also, might Croft or Darcy play ruck minutes or be (very rarely seen, great) Luke Jackson version of a tall around the ground/midfield?

I think it’s a move/draft choice we need to make.

High class talls. All first rounders, and three of them top 10, with a #1 and #2. Add is Buss to to first round talls. I don’t remember even being stocked like this. It’s a wonderful position to be in.

Add in some mids in this draft and looking strong from 2025

I kmow we analyse the team at a micro (seasonal) level, however if you look at things in a macro sense it's never been a better time to be a Dogs fan.

                            I mean Marra....

We used to celebrate making finals.
