Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
AFL StatsPro is a good resource if you want to watch individualised clips of certain players - pick any game from the past couple of years and you get a clip of all their moments from within a game. An example of Jon Ceglar https://www.afl.com.au/stats/stats-p...D_M20210142306Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Looks like a huge line of clubs not wanting to stuff up Free Agency Compo
Richmond has Chol - wound back if Tarrant obtained as a FA
North has Tarrant - wound back if Wallis takes any offer their
Dogs have Wallis - wound back if O’Brien
So Tarrant goes in CCJ deal as a trade. Richmond happy.
North get CCJ a bit cheaper, and Wallis free. North happy.
Hawks get 3rd round compo. Hawks happy.
Dogs though lose Wallis, get O’Brien. Need to work here.
So we lose about pick 60 from Wallis. If Ceglar is a real thing, then a Future 4th Rounder factoring in our loss of Pick 60.
FA option: Hawks TOB & Ceglar Pick 46, Future 4th (Dogs no picks)
Trade option: Dogs keep Pick 60, trade for O’Brien & Ceglar
I’d say stick to Free Agency, lose the Wallis compo, but negotiate that loss into a lower price on Ceglar of a 2022 Fourth Rounder. Two non elite players for Pick 46 & Future 4th is still a good deal for them and cheap enough that Wallis compo can be forgotten about. Assuming to the silence on Wallis is this conga line of Free Agents mucking around compo.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
The Hawthorn supporters laughing about O'Brien and Ceglar should consider that they have played in poor teams for the last 4-5 years - put them in a good side with a good system, and I'm sure they will use their tools to become better players.

Feedback from hawks support friend is :
The amount of times he gets hands to the ball and drops the mark is infuriating. I was furious that Clarkson played him. He averaged maybe 8 or 9 touches a game.
Realistically, he's a back up 3rd tall for you at either end of the ground. Can't play on any big guys, very skinny.
GArdner came good . Maybe O’Brien. Could too . I can only hopeComment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
I’m looking at Richmond for a points trade after they take 40 & Tarrant for CCJ.
Rich: 38, 40 & 42
Dogs: 23, 45
Nets us 111 Extra Draft Points. They get yet another Top 25 Pick
That takes us to 1,651 Draft Points
Lippa for Pick 46 = 331 - 1,982 Draft Points
Pick 3 is 1,787 Points Needed (+205)
Pick 2 is 2,014 Points Needed (-32)
Pick 1 is 2,400 Points Needed (-418)
So only a meaningful deficit at Pick 1. Which is unlikely. We should be fine at Pick 2 even as a 32 DP Deficit won’t change our 2022 First Rounder.
Picks 5: 38, 40, 42, 44, 46 Lippa — Young Future Pick — Wallis forgone compo with O’Brien but built into Ceglar cheaper with future pick from Carlton or us.
7 List Spots Needed (5 Picks, 2 Players): Lippa, Young, Wallis, Jong, Martin (rookie draft?), Re-Open Two Primary List Spots back up
Rookie List: Shrinks by two spots, Hayes & Cavarra. Remaining rookies Smith, Gardner, McNeil & Sweet promoted if required between the ND & RD. Buku stays Cat B.
Ins: O’Brien, Ceglar, Darcy, 4 draftees/rookie upgrades with Priority Access on Raak (or Cat B) & MacPherson (or Cat A)
Rookie: Martin
2022 Picks: In TactLast edited by bulldogtragic; 06-10-2021, 11:08 PM.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: 2021 Rolling List Management Discussion
Nothing to sort out. I love him and his dad. If he stays he’s a VFL player. He deserves to go out playing good footy at a club with a need for him. His leadership in a group like North could advance them greatly. I think it’s best for him to go, it doesn’t help us at all really, but I think he should take an opportunity if it’s being presented elsewhere.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment
