Meanwhile in UK they have removed restrictions and have a mere 39,950 cases reported on their "Freedom Day"

With a much higher vaccination rate and plenty of associated risks, including the potential for a vaccine-resistant variant to develop.

I know the vaccination rate is important, but this isn't going away any time soon.

We need to life with it. Some of us don't have enough time to keep life on hold.

The damage to mental health across the population, may well be higher than the problems from the virus.

What is the alternative? Let it rip through the community?

We need two things:

1. Vaccinate everyone
2. Quarantine incoming travellers in proper quarantine facilities. Hotels are for tourist.

Vaccination is the only way to get through it. England will be an interesting use case, I fear they have gone too early but they still have the majority of people vaccinated. Are we even over 10%?

I can't deal with lockdowns for much longer but we have seen clearly what will happen if we open up unvaccinated.

Fully vaccinated - 2 days ago we reached 11%. UK is sitting on 54%

We may get this under control in VIC, but sure as day, some person will flout the rules in NSW and we will cop it again. NSW is a mockdown, and that is the concern.

This bloody virus is destroying many businesses, people's income and as BJ says their mental state.

I honestly didn't think we would be still concerned with this in 2021.

Yes ditto for me. It all comes down as to where you live which is pot luck. Never been close to it where I live. Hope all Woofers stay safe.

Theyre are at 68.5 percent fully vaccinated BAD.

50 per week?
25 per week?
10 per week?

I'm not suggesting that Covid is just like the flu, but as a comparison Australia approx 700 flu deaths in 2019 so lets say 13 per week. As a base line, we should be comfortable with at least that number when opening up.
